This century old boat building company began in Osterville, where the best selling water crafts were small, sleek sailboats that were designed for racing. These docks that you are looking at right now, are full of boats of all sizes, big to bigger to biggest. If you are looking for racing, you might have to go to Newport, RI or the Hyannis Marina, where you still find the cigarette boats, off-shore racing craft, and sleek world class sailboats that show up in the summer months. The Volvo Challenge, a race circumnavigating the globe, like the Whit bread Challenge, shoots right by Cape Cod and heads towards France, from there they sail around the “Horn of Africa”, through the Indian Ocean, into the Pacific, around the bottom of Argentina and skip up the Atlantic seaboard, home to Newport. It must have been tough without all of the technology, although stars are still a consistent navigational guide. Have a nice week end. Peace M
