Cotuit Bay’s peace
Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the once again, misty, foggy, cool island of Nantucket! Great to be with you on this Thursday morning, the 3rd day of May, 2012, another raw day on Cape, although the damp weather is most appreciated round these here parts, as the region has been in a drought for the past few months. Absolutely nothing new going on in the race for the honor to become the 45th President of the United States of America, with Mitt Romney holding tight to Milton economics, with hopeful future ’shocks’ to come if he and the rest of his plutocratic friends get their way, for his ‘vision’ of America need only go back to the Nixon era, and look at the examples of Chile and Argentina, where the whole concept and goal is to ‘free’ society from the constraints of the big, bad ‘wasteful’ government, that makes sure our water is safe to drink, our food is safe to eat and the air is safe to breathe…amongst many other things, such as a hopeful real look into financial and tax reform before this whole crisis of 2008 happens all over again, a crisis that most Americans have forgotten about although can still most assuredly still feel, or, were completely ignorant (by design from the likes of corporate owned and manipulated national propaganda, I mean media), of the TRUTH as to what really happened–for more on all of that ‘nonsense’ please Google PBS’ award winning program Frontline and the incredibly insightful special, “Money, Power and Wall Street”, both parts a must sea, as well as the Showtime full length film, “Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps”, a real life look into the casinos, I mean big ‘investment banks’, that have literally hijacked the U.S. Congress, part of the Judiciary and hope to soon expand that power to the Executive (God forbid) as well, leaving the large majority of the people in this great nation HIGH and DRY, with rampant unemployment, food shortages, no medical care, and no regulations of any kind, a true “Shock Doctrine”, another must sea book/and or movie of the same name, via the fine author Naomi Kline, whose work profiles this rampant war on the middle and poorer classes beginning in the 1950’s, mostly coming from the work of economics professor from the University of Chicago, Milton Friedman, who pushed the likes of then Presidents Nixon and to a large degree Reagan to adopt this notion that the ‘free market’ will solve all of our problems, a free market that cannot co-exist for long in a free society that demands some kind of social, economic and environmental JUSTICE, JUSTICE for ALL, not just a few, a very few… So, we shall SEA, won’t WE! Have a nice day and keep on dodgin’ those wooden nickles offered up by FOX & FRIENDS, they, both the nickles and the commentators may look real, sound real and even smell real, but the policies they represent are not, at least they are not what they appear to be. PRESERVE THE WILDERNESS! Peace~M
