Christmas Bliss
Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the cold, calm, sunny island of Nantucket! Great to be with you on this Sunday afternoon, a little late in the day I know, but the pundits and politicians of the Sunday morning talk shows just had to wait, as a walk out in the nature conservatory of Eagle Pond took precedent over what many of us already know…the sun was held in awe, with no clouds, as one walks through the endless scrub and white pine, the many paths take you to destinations heretofore unknown. If you are ever in Cotuit on Cape Cod, I highly recommend the pond called Eagle. The destination of the republican party is also unknown at this two o’clock hour on the eastern seaboard of the United States of America, as the debates that everyone is talking (held last night, quite frankly I don’t care where) about rendered little in the way of seeing everyone’s way clear in deciding who is best suited to defeat Barack Obama in the November elections in 2012. Who now knew that Newt Gingrinch would rise so fast and so late?, with Mitt Romney offering up some action of his own as the Iowan caucuses come up quickly and furiously. “Hey Newt, ten thousand bucks you slice into the woods!” “Betting is illegal at BUSHwood sir, and I never slice… (slices into the woods), Damn!” “OK, you can owe me!” “I owe you nothing!” (credit Ted Knight and Rodney Dangerfield, not necessarily in that order, for being such good sports, true lines in 1980, as they are today, brought to you by the classic film, Caddyshack, also starring the great Bill Murray, Chevy Chase, and, of course, ‘the gopher’), words that may have very well been said on either one of these fine gentleman’s country club golf courses, bringing to light the very nature of Wall Street’s degenerative gambling problem, to wit, both of these candidates for the highest office in the land would feel right at home with, in and around. Well played sir! I liked Newt’s continued stance on putting poor kids to work scrubbing toilets, that is the best, for it represents the greatest metaphor of all to use against this republican party that has clearly lost it’s way, it’s mind and it’s moral compass, a party that is imploding on itself like a dying star, for if you have a reality television clown like Donald Trump as your head cheerleader, while reasonable, digestible republicans pundits like George Will or Peggy Noonan,“miss, Noonan, miss!”, (sorry, again, credit the classic 1980 film Caddyshack) are calling for this guys head, you can see the crack that is appearing in the rather large damn holding back all of the lies this group of politicians continues telling, ad nauseum, telling to of course, ‘the American People’ (credit that fine republican talking point, the number one talking point, to our pal and yours, Mitch, ‘the mouse’, McConnell, R-KY, who just can’t seem to get enough of those critters, yes sir!), a people whose environment, as well as their financial futures, not to mention their democracy (disenfranchising tens of thousands of African Americans, elderly, young people, and other minorities and poor, every day, with voting day restrictions, tougher voter ID laws, and “Emergency managers” taking over whole municipalities, effectively becoming, ‘tyrants’, a word they themselves use) as a whole. The Citizens United case of 2010, a case where the Supreme Court in this country, in a five to four decision, decided that corporations ‘are people too’ (credit Willard Romney), opening up the flood gates to even MORE special interest monies, the very reason this country is in trouble to begin with, interests, like KOCH INDUSTRIES (giant polluter/596 deadly chemicals used in the fracking of ‘natural gas’), that can send in (estimates that Koch Industries alone will put in 200 million dollars into the republican coffers come next year) unlimited amounts of that money designed on purpose to overwhelm and destroy the democratic process, tipping the power in the wolves direction, leaving the jobs that were once left up to sound, responsible citizens who wished to serve their country gone with the wind, ‘jobs’, appointments rather, now reduced to some greedy businessmen who wish to not only burn the Constitution, but enslave it’s people, while it takes a huge crap on the environment, an environment our kids and grand kids are going to ask US about someday…I guarantee it! Asking something like, ‘why the hell didn’t you fight back against those monsters when you had the chance?’… I am not going to be one of those people, and, in the shining light of day on little old Cape Cod, overlooking Oyster Harbors, I know that I am not alone. Rock on everyone and have a great day wherever this ‘message in a bottle’ may be reaching you, we, here at seacapecod.net truly do appreciate this free exchange of FACT, as opposed to the fiction offered up by FOX ‘NEWS’ everyday… PRESERVE THE WILDERNESS! Peace~M
