Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket!  On a foggy morning here in Osterville, I hope you and yours are doing just fine this Friday morning, the sixteenth day of July.  Tomorrow is “Osterville Day”, a time to celebrate the joys of this small hamlet in New England–with antique car shows, a parade down Main street and plenty of food and drink for all.  It is one of the privileges of living in New England, for it seems that every little, medium and big town, like Boston, celebrates it’s heritage in similar fashion, keeping alive that old adage, “you don’t know where you are going until you know where you have been.”  Keep it classy Osterville!  Yesterday, in the Gulf of Mexico, a mini miracle did occur, and I thank creative intelligence for that fact.  The oil, that we have had to endure daily on a live feed from 5000 feet below the surface of the Gulf, stopped flowing into our waters–the first time in 87 days!  It almost felt like boredom when looking at the well head, in the live feed, without the drama of the oil gushing into the pristine water that is home to so many of our brothers, the sea creatures of the Gulf.  Is this the final solution to the problem?  No, it is not.  The well has been “capped” by this “stack cap”, however, it still needs to be tested for integrity purposes and then stopped permanently by the “relief well (s)” that are only 30 feet from reaching their goal.  For this fact alone, today, I am grateful and hopeful that the disaster is near its completion.  I wonder if that was enough to really get Mitch, “I got Stella’s groove back”, McConnell’s (R-KY), and “leader” of the minority in the United States Senate, “groove back”, but I suspect it was something else entirely.  I want to talk more about Mr. McConnell’s groove, not really, and how he “got it back”, but I have a sneaking suspicion that it had something to do with his fuzzy math and hypocritical stance on “fiscal responsibility”… In 2001 and 2003, George W. Bush signed into law the largest two tax breaks for the wealthy ever in the U.S., along with the sweetheart deal with the big pharmaceutical companies and insurance companies, and the two unfunded wars, resulting in turning the surplus that Bill Clinton left him into a record deficit put on the back of the American tax payer.  Today, the p.o.h.n. wishes to keep those tax breaks in place for, and I quote McConnell, “they will serve to reduce the deficit.”  Ah, what?  The grand old ‘party of hell no’ truly believes that the, as they like to say, “the American people want us to reduce the deficit”, (by not extending unemployment benefits, amounting to 1 percent of said deficit, but, keeping the tax breaks for the rich, amounting to, with everything tallied up, over 3.5 trillion dollars!), and truly believes that they can hoodwink the “American people” into believing their complete and utter falsehoods.  It is truly shameful to see “Mr. Groove” get all giddy with reporters when speaking of “the American people”– whom he has not known since his inception into the Senate a few hundred years ago.  The p.o.h.n. wishes to speed up the process of plutocracy and see it through to the end.  I hope that Mitch has plenty of food this week end and his family is safe and happy.  For the puppeteers that handle him and the rest of the crew in the p.o.h.n. do not really care all that much about him or his family, they are only interested in the bottom line and, like a shark, will leave you for dead after he steals everything you had, while he blames you and the democrats for the failing of democracy here in the good ‘ole USA.  And just for fun, will ridicule you and anyone like you who is struggling to find employment when all the jobs have been shipped overseas by those same puppeteers, calling you names like “hobo” and “spoiled citizenry”.  Good Luck finding your soul Mitch, and, as my friend Kieth Olberman said yesterday, “Stella and the makers of the movie, “How Stella got her Groove back”, want their cliche back.”  Pronto!  GOD’S CONTINUED SPEED to the GULF, all of the people, SEA TURTLES, DOLPHINS, WHALES, BROWN PELICANS and marsh lands therein…may you continue to have success! Have a great week end everybody!  Peace~M
