Chatham Light

Filed under: Blog — Michael @ 8:02 am

Coast Guard Beach, which is a little north of the Chatham Light as photographed here, was a little foggy for any of summer’s magic to shine forth, so I thought I would pull one out of the archives and present my favorite light house on Cape Cod proper.  Chatham does not look all that treacherous, however, 300 years ago the sand bars that guard her shores have taken down many ships and it was this light, illuminating through the thickest of fog, that led many vessels to the safety of Cape Cod’s harbors.  As we all suffer the
“debate” on health care, or the lack of it as it were, let us be ever reminded of the light house and what a powerful symbol it represents.  The light is the TRUTH and with that light, no lie can prevail.  Darkness cannot survive when you throw on the light switch.  It vanishes like a lie in the face of truth.  Many congressman and senators will be judged by history and being on the wrong side of it when all is said and done.  The lobbyists that work for the insurance industry and own said politicians, have made their beds and will have to lie in them as we as a nation slip from 37th in the world in all round health coverage and care for it’s citizens to the level of third world nations and our overall life expectancy reflects the same.  Why is it so hard for people to see the truth from the false?  When is it time for America to wake up and see what is going on, that they are being LIED to by the very people that they elected into office–that these very people are taking money from the special interests groups, like the insurance industry, whose primary purpose is to continue the status quo, namely making money off of people’s health or lack therein.  Without a public option, like every other advanced country in the world has in order to stave off corporate corruption, the price for doing nothing will bankrupt this country and create a void of haves and have nots, that will create a crisis much bigger than the financial meltdown of 2008.  The current system is not sustainable.  I pray that someone with a little POWER steps up to the plate and hits a grand slam, propelling this country in the RIGHT direction, away from the greed and into the good.  Peace M
