Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the great island of Nantucket!  Great to be with you on this rainy Monday morning here in Osterville, as some weather is expected today, some April showers to usher in those May flowers… The image you see above you is of my pal “Cappy”, Ted Kennedy’s Portuguese water dog whom I had the pleasure to wash one day when I was, “strugglin’ to get my band together…” (credit Harold Ramis/SNL/National Lampoon), as years ago, before I launched this news sight and finished my first novel, “Taking Fog to Nantucket”, that will be featured on WBZ/CBS radio’s finest book review show in the country, hosted by the venerable and gracious Jordan Rich in Boston, syndicated throughout the country, coming to you LIVE from Boston on April 8th, Friday night at midnight, no joke, talking about from everything from PTSD to homelessness in America, from Nantucket and their fine police force, to the crumbling of our nation’s middle class, as we all know by now that the system we currently live in in the good ‘ole USA serves only the top tenth of the top one percent, leaving the rest of us to “pray” for some miracle of Reagan’s ‘trickle down’ economics, voodoo economics to be sure…Bueller, Bueller, anyone?–yes, years ago before I rediscovered that I could move beyond the corporate world and start thinking for myself again, as I did in college at the University of Vermont, and launching my writing career, I started a dog walking company/photography company here in Osterville, and, for a time, washed dogs at a local ‘dog boutique salon’ to make ends meet.  If you are curious about Teddy Kennedy’s dog, Cappy, he still lives in Hyannisport and still visits “Groomingdales” in Centerville, he’s such a good boy! So if you live in the eleven state region that picks up WBZ radio, a partner with CBS radio, and have any spare “time” on Friday night, you might just hear a good story that will let you know that there is still HOPE out there, that all is NOT lost, and the future can be a better place than where we all are today–at least that is my greatest wish, for I moved back to Cape Cod because of men and women who embody the ideals of that Kennedy family, who truly did, as our thirty-fifth President of the United States, Jack Kennedy once said in his famous inaugural speech on a cold, bright winter’s morning in 1961, “Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.” That is a singular, personal question to everyone, to be answered by your own heart–rich or poor, black or white, gay or straight, Jew or gentile, young or old, republican or democrat.  For is it not in those words of a man who was gunned down on this day 43 years ago, Martin Luther King Jr., that still ring true, rather than the words of hate, that are based in FEAR and disillusionment?  “I have made it to the mountain top and I have seen the coming of the GLORY of the LORD… Free at Last, Free at Last, Thank God Almighty, I am FREE at last!” It was all about LOVE for that great man, as it was for a man who walked this earth over 2000 years ago, as it was for a man in another Faith that, when spoken his name, the proper response is, peace and blessings be upon his name, and as it was for mere mortal men and women like King, Kennedy, Gandhi, Mother Teressa, Princess Dianna and Audrey Hepburn, who walked this earth with a greater purpose, a greater mission, all for the greater good, bringing people out of their caves of darkness, of fear, of anger, of hostility and of revenge, and into the LIGHT of Love, Light and Frogs. Just a thought, as we ease on into another tumultuous week where nothing has really changed since yesterday’s input on seacapecod.net.  The game is still rigged, their won’t be a government shutdown because both political parties have way too much to lose, for someone might get a whiff of the smell emanating from the dark caverns of D.C., a pungent odor of Wall Street money that has rigged the system to the point where one panelist on Bill Maher’s great HBO show, “Real Time, with Bill Maher”, a must see ‘tv’ show if I can stomach saying that cliche out loud this early in the morning, who said, just before Bill’s segment, “New Rules”, this about the republican party’s radical shift off the cliff, assuming, of course, that there was any room left to go right, further right than sanity will allow–and I quote, “If the republicans move any further to the right, how would we know?” So stay tuned, same bat station, same bat channel, not to be confused with the bat$hit station of FOX NEWS, where one can attain all of the news that is not fit for human consumption, (an anti-New York Times caption if you will) or any other LIFE form for that matter, although that is not really a problem for FOX, as they are anti-LIFE forms anyway, just ask bp oil, as they ask for permission to drill again in the Gulf of Mexico, one year after the Deep Water Horizon disaster, armed with NO new safety procedures worth any salt, and still using the ‘blowout preventers’ (the cause of the explosion) that an independent Norwegian firm recently discovered and presented to the world, that, “none of them work (blowout preventers) if the pressure gets too high”, the whole purpose of their existence to begin with.  Nice.  Have a great day folks and may GOD’S SPEED continue to be with the good men, women and children of Japan, in this most horrific of natural and man made disasters. PRESERVE THE WILDERNESS! Peace~M
