Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the cold, dark island of Nantucket! Great to be with you on this Monday morning, five a.m., the twenty-first day of November, 2011, and, per the song sang on Saturday Night Live this past week end, by “Florence and the Machine”, …‘it is always the darkest, before the dawn…so what the hell.’ Yes, what the hell indeed. What the hell were we thinking when WE, collectively as a nation, fell asleep at the switch and allowed a non-benevolent ruling class to literally take over the entire system of government that was set up long ago, set up by far wiser men than ‘lead’ today, all set up in the spirit ‘of the people, by the people and for the people…’, for, as WE all know by now, this nation is NOT run by the people, nor is it a system FOR the people, and, at present, is most assuredly not OF the PEOPLE, unless the ‘people’ have suddenly become a grouping of 300 million or so souls who are now quite masochistic in nature, bowing down to their ‘masters’, those who have sadistic tendencies in this sad polar extreme opposite of a very real example of how to attempt to ‘fix’ something that was never broken in the first place, such as with Social Security and Medicare, the Environmental Protection Agency or Planned Parenthood…, they are all the same as in they are all programs designed FOR THE PEOPLE, not the blood thirsty global corporate ‘for profit’ model, the ‘new norm’ that has spread like a cancer across this planet, sparking the ‘uprisings’ you see on the streets of not only Cairo today, mirroring what may be to come, but also on the streets of New York City, Denver, Oakland, Los Angeles, Portland, Columbus, Madison, Boston, well, take your pick. The backlash, however, to this very natural and human response to a system that is clearly corrupt and in many cases, criminal, has been created by those in power with a strong resistance that is well orchestrated by our own government, ironically, the government ‘of the people’, George W. Bush’s, giant HOMELAND SECURITY, along with the Justice Department and the FBI, have been employed to help out the various police departments all across the nation, police departments that have been directed and trained to become increasingly militarized and violent, in this quelling of protests, using Gestapo like tactics, along with the now infamous pepper spray that borders on the criminally insane. Take for instance, and I implore you and yours to take a “GOOGLE”, gobble gobble, at this one, the actions of campus police officers yesterday at the University of California at Davis, home to the best Vet school in the country by the way, where they pepper sprayed innocent students at point blank range, looking more like an execution than a police officer taking action against those ‘dangerous, violent, filthy, tree huggin’, liberal hippy bastards’… The image is of a peaceful grassy ‘knoll’, if you will, with healthy, well dressed students sitting down in a peaceful protest of what our country has allowed for the past forty years, namely, the GRAND CANYON gap between the haves and have nots, represented in that gap between ‘the numbers’ (numbers don’t LIE, unlike our ‘friends’ Mitch, Paul and Eric), such as 278 percent versus near O. The former number representing the percentage the top one percent incomes have increased during those decades, all due not to hard work, as Senator Jon Kyl (R-AZ) would have you believe, but due in part to a system that is only accessible to an elite few, blocking the majority of people, subtly, from achieving ‘the American dream’, while the latter, the number 0, represents the percentage the vanishing middle class, now the working poor, saw their wages increase, yes, that’s right, their wages increased, as opposed to their brothers and sisters in the top one percent, since 1979, by 0! All while productivity is at an all time high, interest rates have never been lower, and the only people who are making money are the speculators, the energy companies and the investments banks who give their costumers bad advice and then bet against them–sounds like America to me! Where do I sign up? Can I really be a young republican? Please? Good Jesus help US! I loved Newt Gingrich’s comment about the ‘Occupy Wall Street’ movement yesterday, when he said, ‘before these bums go out and get a job, they should first take a bath…’, what, get a job like the lobbying job you had with Freddi Mac, wherein your historical ‘advice’ brought in 1.6 million bucks or so? All while that same housing lender, along with the banks making the bets, almost brought the U.S. and world economies to a stand still? Is that the kind of employment you offer NEWT?! Be careful son, or you may just get your wish and some witch out there does indeed turn you into that small, amphibian, who lives under dead logs, eats bugs and, wait moment, I really cannot make one out from the other…god help us, we are being taken over by cold blooded reptiles, or amphibians in old “Newt’s” case! As Paul Krugman, Princetown University professor and notable economist, one of this correspondent’s favorites along with Robert Reich of Berkeley, as well as a few others, said this on ABC’s ‘This Week, with Christiane Amanpour’ yesterday of certain members of congress who do their master’s (plutocrats) bidding–‘they are clowns and fools’, bringing this whole thing to the light of day, you know, the TRUTH, and allowing the rest of the people of this great land to stand up, take notice and vote their conscience in 2012. The “American People”, that has been coined a talking point, or a well rehearsed line the republicans use to put the AMERICAN PEOPLE into some kind of a trance, to get them ‘thinking’ these nice men in suits really care about them, are not stupid, as they learn of the push forward legislation that does not have the general populations’ best interests in mind, putting up yet another ‘natural gas well’ that will poision you and your families’ drinking water, along with the air you breathe, with the ‘brother’s KOCH’s’, 596 deadly chemicals, chemicals used in the ‘fracking’ of shale rock to attain natural gas that makes these monsters richer than God, all while it DESTROYS our fresh water, clean water around the country, killing our beautiful wildlife along with making people really, really sick, something “the BROTHER’S KOCH” don’t want you to know about, while they fund ‘Americans for Prosperity’, the fake grass roots ‘tea party movement’ that is designed to finish the job of completely pulling the wool over the collective American public’s eyes, while it simultaneously pours tens of millions into republican campaign coffers all across the nation (thanks to Citizens United making corporations ‘people’), all done in order to create a more perfect union between corporate interests and the U.S. government, really now one in the same. So as Grover Norquist’s, the hit man for the plutocrats who own the republican agenda in D.C., plan to bleed our country dry of revenue, thus, creating that plutocracy that ‘could drown said government in a bathtub’, via his ‘no new tax pledge’, designed not by old Grove, but by guys such as David and Charles Koch, the ’super committee’ is doomed to fail in reaching a budget compromise (1.2 trillion) with the democrats who are bending over backwards once again (as in cutting at least 3 to one revenue, but republicans refuse to give in on allowing those temporary, to begin with, tax cuts of 2001, 2003, by then President George W. Bush, reducing the deficit by trillions right off the bat, tax increases the very richest among US can most definitely afford), in this never ending game of ‘who give a shit less about the American people, our Constitution and the Environment at large’, with all of these actions culminating in ever more of those American people taking to the streets in the days to come, via the OCCUPY THIS! movement, crying out for social JUSTICE, income equality and a system that serves the PEOPLE of this great nation, just as much as it does the super elite. When you have a clown like Kyl of Arizona saying, ‘money doesn’t grow on trees, and those down at Occupy should not expect to get any’, well, you just want to haul off and slap his silly little face, for in a RIGGED system you can’t help but WIN, thus, creating a ‘loser’ in 99 percent of the American people who now work two, three jobs just to keep their heads above water, as the seas slowly rise, paying 440 percent to loan sharks who call themselves ‘payday lenders’, living in FEAR 24/7 of bill collectors and the like, who ‘keep the masses down’, and, like the now militarized police forces across the nation, are employed by the super-elite to keep that rabble down, demonizing them on the propaganda stations like FOX NEWS, a.k.a. Gerbils, and creating a new caste system that is fail safe, meaning the game is already over, in their minds, and the ‘good guys’ won. However, 300 million people is a big number, and, with a little help from above, may just rise up and squash these thieves for good, calling out big polluters like KOCH, Halliburton and bp, calling them out for who and what they are, shaming them into some kind of sanity, for in the end, as the seas continue to rise, these ‘men’ will be long gone, leaving a sad legacy behind them, a legacy that no one will sing about, or care about, save the historians like myself, who will keep all of their ill fated ”DEEDS” well documented for all the WORLD TO SEA! Have a wonderful week ahead folks and keep on dodging those wooden nickles offered up by FOX NEWS, the, as Keith Olbermann, of “Countdown, with Keith Olbermann”, airing every week night at 8 p.m., EDT, LIVE, re-airing again at 11, 2 a.m., 7 a.m., noon and three the next day, only on CURRENT TV, the best journalism out there right now, likes to say, ‘the political whorehouse that IS FOX NEWS’, for ‘they ‘ain’t sellin’ any alibis, as you stare into the collective vacuum of their beady, little, mean spirited eyes!’ PRESERVE THE WILDERNESS!
