Bright Lights!

Filed under: Blog — Michael @ 11:20 am

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the sunny, gorgeous, temperate island of Nantucket! Great to be with you on a Wednesday morning–the Sixteenth Day of September, 2015–coming to you LIVE on yet another incredibly beautiful “Indian Summer” day at the Hyannis/Hyannis Port Waterfront(s)! Although most Native Americans, such as the indigenous Wampanoag of “Cape Cod”, might take issue at such a slander, or is it one?  Hard to know in the day and age of political correctness, correctness that liquid papers over the real issues facing the citizenry of America today.  Such as the pressing down issue (for ALL!), of income inequality, failing/crumbling/broke U.S. education system, food deserts, and a profound lack of opportunity even “developing nations” would not envy…

And who doesn’t just love that hypocritical nonsense rearing it’s ugly head on talk show after talk show, e.g., the annual Republican outrage of “The War on Christmas”? One of many outrages/”wars” FOX and other propaganda outlets promote rather that common sense, reason and Love.  In fact, when most poor, disenfranchised, malnourished, under-educated, mostly African-American children in inner cities make their way to that ‘high holy day’ of Christmas, they will be lucky if they still have running water, save a “Charlie Brown Christmas Tree”!

The GRAND CANYON gap between the haves and the have nots in this US of A, a harsh reality in America today because of the flawed, greedy, insane policies of the GOP for the past fifty or so years, is the problem with America and the world today.  “That” my ‘friends, colleagues and countrymen’, that is this very daily ‘war on people’, not on Christmas.  If this spectacle were to be considered real, substantive, prescient, then that issue and many other social and environmental issues should be what this so called ‘debate’ on CNN tonight is all about!  WE should begin to care about ALL people who are not on the “right side of the tracks”; tracks (homes) bulldozed away by the hundreds daily in this crumbling, dying nation. Such as in the city of Detroit, once the fastest growing city in the world (1930), but now reduced to a cautionary tale of city whose canary in the proverbial coal mine exemplifies this transference of wealth for any and all the world to witness.  Wealth transference on a scale not seen by man in this modern era; rivaling King’s glory of ‘yore…

Anything goes in this 21st century “America”; especially when you have an entertainer/”I’m a lover, not a fighter?”/businessman/talk show host/magician/reality TV star (also is the producer, director, participant and overall audience)–”I’m everywhere Focker” (credit the 1992 film, “Meet the Parents”, starring Robert DeNiro and Ben Stiller)–leading the pack of 16 mostly politicians with an “R” next to their name who don’t have a clue what just hit them over the head.  So come on down as we rev up the engines once again on the old TV machine, grab some popcorn–per Keith Olbermann–and watch some more of them Republican debates on this marvelous new invention called ‘television’…  Marge, grab me my Pabst Blue ribbon in the kitchen will ya!

“Hope it’s a wonderful coffee shop Jack!”

(credit the classic film, “Midnight Run”, circa 1988, also starring Robert De Niro).

Have a nice day!

PRESERVE THE WILDERNESS! Peace~N
