Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the great island of Nantucket! So good, as always, to be with you on this Monday morning, here in Osterville, with cooler temperatures being served up on this little sand bar created by the Last Great Ice Age over 11,500 years ago… The week end news cycle offered up quite a lot, but no report more interesting and sad than one provided by some credible scientists who have discovered what happened to all of that OIL that was “spilled” into the Gulf of Mexico, via bp’s Deep Water Horizon drilling platform that exploded in the spring of this year, dumping 5 million barrels of oil, at least, along with millions of gallons of dispersant, the internationally banned substance called Corexit 3500, a chemical compound that made environmentalists cringe whenever the name was brought up. The reason why the oil never made it to the surface was due to the Corexit mixing with the oil, breaking it up into smaller particles, almost invisible to the naked eye, and as officials from the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration told us all, a few weeks ago, that the 75 percent of the oil had either been scooped out of the Gulf, evaporated or had been broken down by bacteria, we all shook our heads and wondered what the real truth was, and IS. It has been reported that the huge underwater “plumes” of oil that were widely reported a few months ago, have sunk, and on the ocean floor, lies the TRUTH, the indisputable TRUTH as to where the bp oil went. As far as 70 miles out, and everywhere in between, oil lies at the bottom of the Gulf’s watery floor, 3 inches deep, stifling life wherever it makes it’s presence known. That means a couple of things. One, no life, not even a worm, lives at the bottom of the Gulf sea bed, and thus, the microscopic animals that once lived their, the building blocks for our food chain, are no longer available, and thus, will affect the larger animals that depend on them for sustenance, destroying a large section of fish, that will effect the even larger animals, such as dolphins and whales, and eventually man himself. This is the BIG picture that neither bp, the weakened government agencies like NOAA, the EPA and others, nor the government at large want you to know about. WHY? If the truth came out, the whole premise of using Corexit would be damaged, and should cause outrage, and thus, the old and proven adage “out of sight, out of mind,” applies here in a big way. Imagine the Gulf as a big Persian rug, and you just spilled a bunch of potting soil on your nice hard wood floors. Instead of picking up the dirt with the traditional broom and dustpan, you opt for the easier, softer way, and simply brush the dirt under the rug…problem solved. With this analogy, however, you don’t have the problem of toxicity, nor do you have anything, presumably, living under your rug, but, with “sweeping” the oil under the sea, and leaving it there forever, keeping the public off your back, and thus, limit your liability, i.e. money saved, while you put up deceiving ads designed to make you out to be the “good guy” who really cares for the environment, when in reality, you are actually a criminal, who has damaged one of the largest fisheries in the United States, possibly forever, and walked away from the scene of the crime with a smirk on your face, along with the up and coming apologetic power’s that be, i.e. the p.o.h.n./tea party movement, backing you up 220 percent–is that not right Tony, “gone sailin’ Hayward? That is what I am talking about here. The republican party, if they take power in the House of Representatives in the fall, and thus, take control of the Legislative branch of the United States government, taking the country back to the days of Ronald Reagan, where we will see less regulation and more of these types of environmental disasters, all while the average American citizen becomes as poor as members of third world nations, will prove to us all that they are really a bought and sold corporate entity, owned and directed by the likes of “men” such as David and Charles Koch. That it is all about the corporation and their ability to make as much money as possible, irregardless of the human toll, the environmental toll, and the toll to our psyche as a nation, a nation that is on the edge. So many people are hurting out there and the republican party has proven itself to be the party that cares nothing for the average American citizen. Just ask my pal John, “billy bob”, Boehner (R-OH) and soon to become leader of the House, GOD HELP US, whose double speak is so glaringly obvious that he needs no interpreter now, for he has become so transparent in his treachery that we no longer need someone to point out his hypocrisy, his lies and his obvious hatred for anyone with a compassionate bone in his body, you know, one of them “elite east coast liberals.” We will be taking this country back to the stone ages, billy bob might as well have said, for the “American people”, whom I speak for, feel that they have not had ENOUGH pain, they want more, and as we sell this country off, piece by piece, to the highest bidder, “how much for the Gulf of Mexico?, you can’t fish there anymore, but I’ll bet there is still some Texas Tea down there somewhere!”, leaving a wake of hungry, confused, sick and desperate Americans wondering what just what the hell went wrong. We all have a stake in this fiasco called the November elections, and if the party of hell no, combined with the fake, grass roots tea party created by the Koch brothers, the third richest family in the United States, steeped in the oil and gas industry, that, as evidenced, is killing off our population of animals, marsh lands and people by the thousands, takes over control of the law creating arm of the United States government, GOD HELP US! We will have placed in power, a homophobic, racially challenged, rabid group of men and women who are literally employees of David and Charles Koch, the new “kings” of the country, and thus, the wave towards plutocracy will have taken the beaches, wiped them out, and replaced them with a true caste system, where private security firms will keep the wealthy safe from the gathering marauders that will be looking for food, shelter and hope, hope that was bought and sold by the corporate wolves who still cry the mantra and modus of their operandi, “profit over people, profit over people, profit over people…” PRESERVE THE WILDERNESS! Peace~M
