Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the cold, sun drenched island of Nantucket! Great to be with you on the 16th day of November, 2014, a crisp one out on the Hyannis/Hyannis Port Waterfront; calm though as you can clearly make out from the image taken of said Hyannis Harbor only moments ago.  Even though the calendar says “Thanksgiving” and “Christmas” (along with all of the other holy holiday celebrations celebrated by the many equally good religious dogmas out there–by gosh by golly!), keep in mind that the good folks on Nantucket, Hyannis, Osterville, Centerville, Chatham, Truro, Provincetown, Yarmouth, Dennis, Yarmouthport, Barnstable, Cotuit, Mashpee, MV, Falmouth (all eight townships therein), will put on what we here on this little sand bar created 11,500 years ago by the Last Great Ice Age, call “A Christmas Stroll”.  And like the ‘Who’s’ of “Whoville”, thanks Dr. Seuss!, we don’t care about the Grinch stealing the spirit of the lights, laughs and love surrounding this sacred annual event. For it represents the Love of community mostly, highlighting our shops and our lives, but mostly just how much we depend upon each other. The true meaning of this coming holiday season in my humble opinion. So take heart America and come on down to Cape Cod and the Islands for a good old fashioned Christmas Stroll, if not this year, then pencil it in for Christmas Future!  Like the 21st Century GOP policies lined up for America’s future (if they didn’t have a road block called President Barack Obama), you will feel like you are back not in the 19th Century, no sir, rather back in the days of ‘yore, rubbing elbows with none other than Paul Revere himself…who famously (according to historian and FOX ‘news’ contributor extraordinaire, Sarah, “I kill innocent wolves from the safety of a helicopter!”, Palin), rode crazily through the streets of Boston, “…shooting off ‘dem warning shots’ to ‘warn the British that the Americans were, you know, gonna be comin’ soon, er, line?, umm, yeah, he was ridin’ his horse all through town, lightin’ them gas lamps and all by golly, all while he was doin’ ‘dat, he was um, er…, what’s ‘dat?  You want me to wrap it up?  Gladly…”. Have a nice day everybody, hopefully turning off your ’screen’ and feeling the freedom of a good swim in the Atlantic in November or, conversely, simply walking out        the door, go out onto 5th Avenue and get a Starbucks coffee, or something like that…
