Art imitating Life and Life imitating art…

Filed under: Blog — Michael @ 10:20 am

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the foggy, cool island of Nantucket! Great to be with you once again on this Tuesday morning, roughly 10 a.m. eastern, the 7th day of May, 2013.  As the summer gets closer by the day, we here at seacapecod.net, overlooking the Steamship Authority and the big ships that carry visitors to the area over to said great islands of Nantucket and MV, wish to extend our great thanks for your patronage and hope you all have a great time on this little sand bar created 11,500 years ago by the Last Great Ice Age.  A few years ago, I was honored to be part of Adam Sandler’s very funny movie called “That’s my boy”, starring aforementioned actor and comedian of SNL fame, Tony Orlando, Leighton Meester, James Caan, Susan Sarandon, Will Forte, Andy Sandberg, Vanilla Ice among many others when the film was shot in my old hometown of Osterville, Massachusetts in the summer of 2011.  The reason I bring this up is to not only to promote the work, but to bring some LOVE to a new radio station on Nantucket called 97.7 ACK FM, where the great DJ’s, Sandy, Kate and D.C., are bringing back to life old movie clips from yesteryear, such as “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off”, staring the incomparable Mathew Broderick, when he famously stated, “…Life moves pretty fast, if you don’t stop and take a look around every once in a while, you might just miss it.” I don’t know about you, but that sounds like good advice to me, for the corporate news cycles will continue unabated, the wars will come and go and politics will always be tainted in this country by bad decisions by the Supreme Court such as “Citizens United” of 2010, pouring millions into Ads that only bring deception and disarray.  Leaving one to postulate, ‘ get me off this crazy thing Jane!’ Food for thought as you and yours take in a movie this summer, or even better, come on down to the Cape and Islands for some Lobster, ice cream and a cool drink, for there is no better place on earth to visit–and, as always, WE will leave the LIGHT on for YA! Have a great day and please tune in tomorrow, same bat time, same bat channel.  PRESERVE THE WILDERNESS! Peace~M
