An Osterville sunrise

Filed under: Blog, Uncategorized — Michael @ 8:02 am

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the gorgeous, sunny, mild island of Nantucket! Great to be back with you on this Friday morning, the 18th day of May, 2012, a stunning day expected on Cape, as well as the rest of the week end, as the tourists and snow birds alike begin flocking back to the little, tiny, tiny town of Osterville, that you can see above you, East Bay to be specific, yes, that little town that some have coined, “a mini-Palm Beach”, hardly recognizable from the days of ‘yore when the main trade was actually in Oysters (not high end real estate firms, banks and casinos, I mean investment banks), and other pleasures such as hand made yachts from Crosby’s Yacht just down the street overlooking the exclusive Oyster Harbors, where a few friends of mine live during this ‘time’ of year…good to have you back! Well, back in Gotham, and it’s twin sister of Washington D.C., (save the fire and brimstone offered up by the great Vice President Joe Biden campaigning in the equally great state of Ohio, hats off sir!!), the you know what is flying, as some plutocratic billionaires were up to their dirty old tricks, hiring the likes of Fred Davis, an Ad exec who is also “not a witch”, being paid the big bucks, millions, to create a manifesto, or, as Jerry McGuire (Tom Cruise) liked to call it via “SMI”, or ’sports management international’, “a mission statement”. The title to the Joe Rickets mean spirited philosophy (to his credit he rejected?), is fairly self explanatory, “How to defeat President Barack Hussein Obama”, channeling Mitch McConnell?, bringing up the old, tired story of Reverend Wright and hinting strongly of racism, lies and distortions that go far beyond what ‘ole Mitt Romney was complaining about yesterday on ‘the aircraft’, and in a five minute speech he gave upon landing, stating, “I am very disappointed in all of the character assassinations regarding my tenure at the private equity firm of Bain Capital.”  A company whose main goal was to make money for it’s principals, some of its’ investors, all while putting the company they were trying to ’save’ in deep, deep debt, eventually bailing out, leaving thousands without jobs, health benefits or a future while people like Mitt and his pals at Bain grew richer than they could possibly imagine.  Since when is telling the TRUTH about your record, moreover, telling the people you want to vote for you what, how, where and why you did what you did at Bain?  Lying about ‘creating’ thousands of jobs, when, in fact, if you look at the record, the aggregate record, such as Staples, INC., thousands of jobs were lost in and around that mega corporation’s existence, who cut salaries to get lean and mean, again, making money for investors who are in the game–leaving most of their neighbors, the small businesses in and around Staples super stores high and dry, twisting in the wind. This is not a ‘character assassination’ Mitt, these are FACTS, unlike ‘facts’ that you have recently spewed out that you are going to take a bunch of the credit for bailing out Detroit, when only a few months ago you said, “Let Detroit go bankrupt”… Two visions for America indeed Mr. Romney, two visions indeed.  One is for the few, the proud, the plutocrat, and one is for the average working man or woman in a nation that needs to come together to solve some very serious issues, such as tax code reform, banking reform, health care reform (waste, fraud and abuse), climate change, the growing poverty level in this country, voting rights suppression (such as in Florida and Michigan), women’s rights, minority rights, immigration, among others like, I don’t know, clean air, water and land, devoid of deadly chemicals–keeping in mind that President Obama has never, nor would seacapecod.net for that matter, consider you, Mitt, a bad man.  Just a man who made his money in a rigged system where the breaks all go to those on the inside, leaving the average wage earner stagnant (for over forty years now), living day to day, hand to mouth in a pool of uncertainty, fear and doubt.  I am sure that if WE knew a little more about the man, his faith, his true heart regarding those he wishes to govern, as he did in this fine state of Massachusetts, during the years of 2003-2007, well, I think you may get the picture, for it was during that time my home state was ranked 47th in job creation, but did manage to create a fair and good health insurance program that turned out to be the blueprint for the Affordable Care Act (LAW of the LAND), or “Obamacare” as the kids like to call it, begging the question, which Mitt Romney wants to lead this great nation?  For his ‘visions’ seem to be a bit blurry, and go no where, especially when reporters are banned from talking to him unless they have a FOX “NEWS” pin on their press pass.  We shall SEA! Have a wonderful week end folks and enjoy the great out doors, turning off those electric devices if only for a few seconds!!  God speed to Donna Summer as well!  Yet another great entertainer who has left US this young year, far too young, may we all keep in mind that music saves the soul and world for that matter, whereas greed, and ‘the lust for money’ (the real root of ALL evil) destroys it.  PRESERVE THE WILDERNESS! Peace~M
