Amazing Grace

Filed under: Blog — Michael @ 8:01 am

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the great island of Nantucket!  Great to be with on this Sunday morning, the third day of October, 2010.  The cooler weather has finally arrived on the Cape and islands and after a record breaking summer of heat all across this planet of ours, it is a welcome change… It seems that we, collectively as a nation, will need some “Amazing Grace” to keep this country from plunging into the dark ages if the RTP gains control of the House and thus, takes over power in the Legislative branch of the United States government come the fall mid-term elections taking place on November 2, 2010 at a polling place near you.  The only way that is going to happen, it appears, is if the FACTS via the TRUTH get a little more than a passing glance by the general electorate.  Let’s look at some facts this morning concerning a few of our hopefuls for elected office this fall.  A stunning example of fact versus fiction is the race for the governor of California, a race between Jerry Brown and Meg Whitman, the former CEO of Ebay, and a billionaire in her own right.  It seems that Meg has some “esplainin’ “ to do, especially to all of the Latino voters in her state, as she has pulled the wool over the eyes of Californian voters as to her immigration stance, while having her cake and eating it too.  Ms. Whitman employed an “illegal”, as the morons at FOX and FRIENDS like to call our friends from the south or anyone who does not look like them, for over 9 years to run her house, HER HOUSE, all while claiming that she had “no idea” that this kind, sweet HUMAN BEING, who was as trusted as any of Meg’s family, was not a legal resident of the state of California.  Think about that for a moment.  If you had the wherewithal to hire a person to live in your house, take care of all your needs, trusting them with your life, would it not stand to reason that you might know a little something about them, such as WHERE ARE YOU FROM? The tall tales being told by these tea party candidates is getting to the point where you need to take some form of anti-nausea medicine just to get through Olbermann, let alone Maddow or O’Donnell, Lawrence, not Christine.  After the house keeper’s lawyer proved that the house keeper did not steal the document, as Whitman claimed she did, and after we actually heard from one of these “small people”, as some billionaires like to call them, (we heard a weeping woman tell her tale of how Whitman, upon firing the house keeper of 9 years, told her, and I quote, “I don’t know you and you don’t know me.”), we learned all we need to know about Meg Whitman…she is a liar, a tax cheat and a fraud as a human being–not a good choice for the people of California to make for their next governor…  Game, set and match.  Whitman is just another example of how people with money somehow feel that not only are they above the law, but truly believe that they can run for office by a completely different set of FACTS than the ones offered by REALITY.  Republicans should be embarrassed by this, but they won’t be, of course, for in the minds of some of these billionaires who are running on the RTP ridiculous platform of “We the People”, the ends justify the means.  The ends being a complete corporate takeover of the United States of America, and with the “Supreme Court” on their side, via Citizens United, and the fact that corporations can dump, invisibly, huge amounts of cash into a campaign and “Bigfoot” the whole process via the airwaves and thus, get at the angry mob (via fear, anger and paranoia) that they are trying to hoodwink into voting for them and their “cause”, to restore “America” back to the way it once was, or at least the way it was under George W. Bush, maintaining a tax code that serves the wealthy and is rigged so that the wealthy remain so, while the poor in this country are fooled into thinking that repealing the new Health Care LAW is going to somehow help them–with the Supreme Court on their side, the goal of a plutocratic society never looked more attainable.  It is the classic Stockholm Syndrome, where the prisoners feel sorry for their captors.  However, in the Meg Whitman case, I don’t think the over 25 percent Latino population is going to feel too sorry for billionaire Whitman, who has proven herself to be yet another example of the wealthy’s apathy and disdain for the poor, not to mention her denial that they are indeed equal citizens of California or any other state in America.  This mindset provided by the new and improved culture war that the “party of no” and subsequent mutation into the RTP, or republican tea party started.  Truly created out of thin air, via the “man behind the curtain,” David and Charles Koch, the founders of the tea party only 20 months ago, have proven, to inquiring minds everywhere, of who and what they really ARE–billionaires who pollute our great country every day with over 596 chemicals in their “natural gas” extraction process of the hydraulic fracturing of shale rock (”fracking”) in over 37 states now, soon to be infecting upstate New York and thus, the Hudson River and over 18 million “American people” in the greater New York City area, causing great sickness to countless poor people who were stupid enough to lease their property to evil companies like Koch or Halliburton, who know all too well what those chemicals are doing to human beings, animals and plant life–you know, scumbags.  Elect Carl Paladino for governor and see that come into fruition in the great state of New York…Forget about it! Enjoy your Sunday and possibly Sunday (NBC/ABC) talk shows folks and, if you can, pretend you are in a poker game while watching these pundits and politicians, and remember that you can always tell when someone is lying by their facial movements, their body language and their temper… just ask Carl, although, be careful, he might, “take you out!”  PRESERVE THE WILDERNESS! Peace~M
