A rose is just a rose…

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the sunny, beautiful, tranquil island of Nantucket! Great to be with you on this fantastic November 17th day, a Tuesday to be sure, I think.  We are coming to you LIVE once again from the historic and must SEA Hyannis/Hyannis Port Waterfront(s), and this humble reporter must report ‘where the heck is everybody?’  Don’t the wonderful people who visit these sacred shores in the summer know that all times of year–Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall–anytime, or any single day, know this is the place to be?  To be. To unplug and simply take in a good, long salty air breath, reflecting on a little sand bar created 11,500 years ago by the “Last Great Ice Age” .

There is no place better.

Take the upcoming Christmas strolls for example, notably the one taking place on that fabled island of Nantucket in a few weeks time.  Hopping aboard the Steamship Authority or HyLine fleet of competent ferries, transporting one to another place in ‘time’, making one feel as if one is back in the days of ‘yore, when old Paul Revere left Boston for the boys in Lexington to warn those brave lads that “the English are coming”.

“Or was it them Americans?  Either way, he was ‘a lightin’ them lamps while galloping on his pony full throttle through them darkened Massachusetts countrysides, ringing them bells and all kinds of other stuff…” Or at least that is the way our friend former VP nominee Sarah Palin recalls it…

This is solemn day that follows the LIGHTS written all over this beautiful World during the past few crescent moon lit nights.  Vigils marking the fact that LIGHT always triumphs over darkness.  Darkness that scarred Paris on what should have been just another joyful evening in the City of Light.  On this day we here at Sea Cape Cod humbly offer yet another rose from a quaint country house on Ocean Street here in Hyannis. Thank you Gale!  It’s not so much the Rose that counts, but the essence within it.  Thanks to all who tend to that essence that guides and nurtures all souls.

  • Have a wonderful day folks!  May Paris and the rest of the world find that Rose’s Essence; for we all know that same Rose can bloom once again in a desolate, dirty, dangerous desert if it is allowed to…

PRESERVE THE WILDERNESS! Peace~M
