A loyalty to history

Filed under: Blog — Michael @ 9:50 am

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the sunny, humid, awesome island of Nantucket! Great to be with you and yours on this Friday, a warm 21st day of August.  Coming to you LIVE from the Hyannis/Hyannis Port Waterfront(s) on yet another super summer day; for it still summer, lest we forget, not Halloween quite yet, and thus we might take that fact and put it to use so as to pull out on some blizzard in the near future…

Carpe Diem!

“…seize the day”

The ongoing and intensifying media onslaught of this 24/7 2016 presidential race is by design. If one were to ponder what the media looked like back in 1976 when Jimmy Carter (God Speed Sir!), became the 39th U.S. President (movies reflecting life and vice versa, the innocent data video games contained, or what anchor Walter Cronkite of ‘the CBS Evening News’ reported as ‘the most trusted man in America’, or the simple shows on ‘the TV’), one might come to the conclusion that a few really rich crazy people are steering the herd with lots of loud noisy nonsense (plus all the shiny objects!). Drivel that holds no substance, yet plenty of sexy sass.  In this day and age of conspicuous consumption, one must comprehend the concept of economic slavery. “We”, the plutocrats, need the consumer to continue consuming. For ‘it’, blind consumption, is indeed the ‘fuel’ that runs our economy and hence our pocket books, not yours or your families, and please refrain from peering in to catch of glimpse of the “men behind the curtain”…

Of course, if ‘they’ continue destroying earth for their own personal profit (over people and planet), there won’t be “an economy” to talk about on CNBC.  A mass delusional behavior that only rewards those in the .001 class, living it up in this grand illusion of a rigged monetary-market system; a system systematically destroying the only environment this species (humans and all of our furry and wet friends!) has ever known…

Is this logical or insane?

“You be the judge Greg!” (credit “Otter” from the classic 1978 film, “Animal House“; starring the late, great John Belushi, and written by the late, very funny writer/director Harold Ramis).  ‘The point of parliamentary procedure sir’ is this: please, for the love of ‘god’ look through the bull$hit and follow the money! If it looks and smells like dark loot, it most likely is, and thus, probably up to no good!  Special interests, secret societies, the military industrial complex, greedy, polluting, tax cheating multinational corporations combined with an out of control ‘free-market’ system, called “Globalization, all run by big banks and big oil, offers the country it does business in “no added value of any kind” and should be called out as such on this most important election of this young nation’s history.

For if these scary issues are not resolved, this democracy with a little letter ‘d’ will not stand, man. Too many people have paid the ultimate price for this democracy. One that was divinely inspired, and bravely defended for well over two centuries. Therefore, WE–as a nation of smart, good, hard working people–will rise up and demand a FAIR SHAKE!

Consider Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, an independent, honest man with nothing up his sleeve!

Have a great week end everybody!

PRESERVE THE WILDERNESS! Peace~M
