A HOLY Touch

Filed under: Blog — Michael @ 11:27 am

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the sunny, cool, breezy island of Nantucket! Great to be with you on this 21st day of September, 2015, a brisk Monday morning and top of it to you and yours!

This week, beginning tomorrow, the United States (notably Washington D.C., New York City and Philadelphia), will be alive with electricity and a touch of Grace, for Pope Francis will be visiting OUR shores on a whirlwind tour of this country’s largest and most prominent cities, at least those on the East Coast.  The pontiff will arrive, most likely in coach, on Tuesday at 4 p.m., landing at Joint Base Andrews. On Wednesday, he will meet with President Obama at a White House ceremony around 9 a.m., before a Papal Parade along the Ellipse and the National Mall.  At 11:30 a.m., he will give a Midday Prayer with U.S. Bishops at Saint Matthews Cathedral in D.C., followed up at 4:15 p.m. with the Junipero Serra Canonization Mass at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.

On Thursday, at 9:20 a.m., Pope Francis arrives at the U.S. Capitol and at 10 he will give a speech to the United States Senate and the House of Representatives (Joint Session of Congress), and directly after will make a brief appearance on the West Front of Capitol Building.  At 11:15 the Pope will visit St. Patrick’s Cathedral in DC and Catholic Charities of the Archdioceses of Washington.  He will then depart Washington for New York’s JFK where he will give an Evening Prayer at St. Patrick’s (New York) at 6:45 p.m.

On Friday, at 8:30 a.m., the Pope will address a General Assembly of the UN. At 11:30 that morning he will  offer prayers at multi-religious services at the 9/11 Memorial and Museum; World Trade Center.  At 4, he will be in East Harlem at Our Lady Queen of Angels School, followed up by a Papal Motorcade through Central Park, and then on to a giant indoor Mass at Madison Square Garden at 6 p.m.

On Saturday morning he will fly to Philadelphia where he will preside over Mass once again at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints’ Peter and Paul. At 4:45 p.m., the Pontiff will visit Independence Mall and at 7:30 that evening, he will visit Festival of Families at Benjamin Franklin Parkway and Prayer Vigil with World Meeting of Families.  On Sunday, there will be a Papal meeting with Bishops at St. Martin Chapel, St. Charles Borromeo Seminary. At 11, the Pope will visit the Curran-Fromhold Correctional Facility, and at 4 will celebrate Mass with the World Meeting of Families. At 7, he will meet organizers and volunteers, benefactors and the World Meeting of Families at Atlantic Aviation, whereupon he will depart for Rome.

This epic visit will draw upwards of tens of millions of U.S citizens, both in there in person as well as viewing on the many electronic devices man has at this disposal today, creating more of ONE than “I”; all attesting to catch some humble, yet Awesome Touch glowing from this Argentinian born Pontiff.  Offering a peace that is beyond doubt, danger or despair. His humanity, and said humility, walks the talk Jesus prescribed 2000 plus years ago.  Bringing to LIGHT the many, many, many glaring problems mankind faces in this sometimes inhuman 21st century.  A century this “intelligent” species better get a hold of soon, or there will be no more planet to bless.

There will also be no more talk of ‘the economy’… For without a planet that is in balance with itself (i.e mankind’s blind eye and profit driven mentality, a form of mental illness, that underlies this insane constant promotion of environmental degradation/destruction/decay), there simply will not be a place to call home and thus, “the economy” will be a thing of the past, it won’t be relevant any longer.  The health of the planet hanging in the balance of this questionable and rather sick human behavior.  And that, will be that, over and out…

And the inhabitants of said beautiful Blue Rock in a blessed and lucky “Goldie Locks Zone” will doomed to an atmosphere growing ever hotter.  One eventually reconciled and labeled inhabitable to man or any other living being. The furry, wet and slighted creatures who are helpless to the vicious nature of this so called intelligent MAN.  Maybe not today or tomorrow, but by this ‘time’ one hundred years from NOW, one must wonder what our beloved planet    ~EARTH~    will look like?  What will happen to all of her wonderful animals, such as the many species of Whale?  What of the Cape Cod Cardinals? Great Blue Herons and Siberian Tigers?  The Holy African Lions, the majestic Polar Bears, and all of the other blessed babies out in the oceans, mountains, glaciers, meadows, forests, fields and sky? Yes, what will it all look like Senator? And is that your real name?  And who do you really work FOR?   What will it look like indeed, via a never ending, unholy modus operandi of PROFIT over people? This so called “New World Order” that has nothing to do with the ALMIGHTY. Begging the question for all of US and the world at large,

“…what will those still living in 2115 think of OUR folly?”

Some thoughts perhaps Pope Francis will touch upon may very will be the GRAND CANYON gap between the haves and the have nots (unsustainable), as well as that careless, reckless, insanity of mankind’s continued blindness to the reality of GLOBAL WARMING.  Along with all of the devastation therein to come…

Have a pleasant stay in New York, Washington DC and Philadelphia (birthplace of OUR democracy with that little letter ‘d‘), your Excellency!

PRESERVE THE WILDERNESS! Peace~M
