A Grey Fox…
Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the partly sunny, breezy, balmy, brilliant island of Nantucket! ‘Tis very good to be with you on this quiet Monday High Noon; The Eleventh Day of June, 2018. Taking in some super weather of late on this little sand bar created by retreating glaciers during ‘The Last Great Ice Age’, as one can clearly make out ‘above deck’…

Here’s hoping your summer vacation includes this destination, for one can hardly go wrong when walking say, “Long Beach”, (Centerville/Osterville), at the seven a.m. hour. One’s only companions being the grey fox, soaring Ospreys, Terns, Piping Plovers, Greater Black Backs, Great Blue Herons, Snowy Egrets, Cardinals, Blue Jays, English Sparrows, Morning Doves, Gold Finches, Marsh Hawks, Great Horned Owls, Humpback Whales, Dolphins, Harbor Seals, Great White Sharks, the rare Wood Duck, and all the fishes the deep blue/green Atlantic has to offer.
Leaving one’s ’smart phone’ behind on this walk of course, for one would not have witnessed the silent grace of said Fox the other morning had one been busy on this ‘Ap’ or that ‘Ap’. Mindlessly surfing a virtual reality on a 5×7 electromagnetic screen when one could be immersed in God given whimsical wilderness all around them; reconnecting one to who, and more important what we all really ARE…

No where on planet earth can you feel this way; coming from a ‘humble’ reporter who has been around the block as it were. When booking you next escape from the madness of this ‘Brave New World’ of AI, 5G and all the other new “god’s” within the confines of this new ‘one world religion’ called ‘technology’, why not stay at the newly renovated ‘Compass Rose’ on scenic, magical, marvelous Route 6A in Yarmouth Port? Perhaps one of the cutest bed and breakfast establishments on this blessed strip of sand that ‘time’ forgot. The old ship builder/captain’s house built two centuries ago, looking out at towering ancient trees lining the ‘Old Indian Trail’; whose stories spin countless tales of heroic ship captains, Kings and Queens, Dukes and Barons, poets, and many others who built houses that stood this test of ‘time’…

When you are here, you might just allow yourself to be in the moment; the only ‘thing’ that is real in this fast paced life. Not chained to someone or something else’s definition of ‘moment’, robbing you of yours. Ever controlling one to focus on anything but that elusive, ever valuable, priceless here and NOW;
keeping one looking down at a mere illusory projection of what we ‘think’ the future should and will be…
