A Cardinal ’sin’

Filed under: Blog — Michael @ 2:07 pm

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the overcast, still frigid island of Nantucket! Great to be with you on this Saturday, high noon, the 21st day of February, 2015, another ‘cool’ one out there, temperatures in the low teens, with the Hyannis/Hyannis Port Waterfront expecting to pick up a few more inches of snow; a few more winter blasts of that Siberian air pushing south over the North Pole…

So here we all are, a few more weeks and it will be Spring!  But let that not raise your spirits, no sir!  You must adhere to the laundry list of outrages that ‘are trending right now’.  You got your “Obamacare” issues, you got your “the” Ukraine issues, you got your overcrowded GOP presidential nomination process, yup, as well as the “Clinton” watch going on over there…  Then you ‘got your ISIL insanity, plus that well groomed jackass (68,000 bucks for hygiene products?), from Israel coming over basically uninvited by the White House…  Then you move on into the whole issue of whose going to win the Oscar on Sunday and who is “wearing who”, as irony drips from the Red Carpet, stars a shining and flashes a flashin’.

However, the real news of the millennium has been in clear sight since 1976, right under our bloody collective noses all this ‘time’–namely, the FACT the earth is warming exponentially as I write these words, as WE continue to spew Carbon Dioxide, Methane and other green house gasses into the earth’s fragile atmosphere for a century and a half, with no end in sight.  Well, one end comes to mind and to me, and I imagine future generations who wish to have a FUTURE, that is more important than anything else we could possibly be thinking about or acting on (more importantly), ‘at this juncture’…. These future generations are going to be a little more interested come 2016 in what candidate x,y or z is going to have to say about this coming calamity, lo, a cataclysm of biblical proportions.

Like I have said before and I will hopefully say again, 100 years from now, no one, I mean no one is going to give a rat’s ass about who wore who, or what some money grubbing politician did (stole elections!), to become a puppet in “America (during the early part of the 21st Century), the great plutocracy!”

Hey, I could be wrong you know.  I am not on network news, nor do I work for the New York Times or the Washington Post, at least not yet.  I am AWARE however.  And, I truly believe that when the temperatures continue to rise big time and the storms (like the four Boston has endured, 90 plus inches so far in February alone!), get stronger and stronger due to all of that ‘new form’ moisture in the atmosphere due to melting glaciers, arctic ice, etcetera, there is going to be a deafening WAKE UP call, and a whole lot of people are going to look to someone for answers, moreover, who to blame… All while the droughts around the globe get deeper and deeper, causing world famine, coupled with the seven seas continuing to rise to the point where millions upon millions of people will be displaced, forever… Creating panic and mass migrations that will make this pitiful immigration ‘war’ by the GOP seem rather silly, ridiculous and shortsighted, very shortsighted by comparison, yes, when all of that happens, who ‘won Iowa’ will not really seem to matter all that much, now will it?

So be aware my young friends, old friends and friends in between.  The dawn is coming.  We need all intelligent, compassionate, loving and caring hands, hearts and heads on deck for this man made change in the weather…

Have a great Saturday everybody!
