Lake Elizabeth’s prayer…

Filed under: Blog — Michael @ 6:41 am

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the cold, clear, starry skied, cheer filled island of Nantucket!  Merry Christmas! Broadcasting LIVE from the woods of historic Hyannis, on this Twenty-Fifth Day of December, 2018.  A very early five a.m. start to what began a second after midnight…

As the late, great John Wayne once said, long ago, when speaking to the fact when that day actually begins…He also said, as the Westward bound settlers were still sleeping on their ’sleeping bags’ under a billion stars filling the void of a lonely prairie,

“…let’s get a move on!  We’re burning daylight!”

Most of the innocent, helpless children of this world may not be receiving the newest version of the same I-phone, or talking owl, or even one of those evil “Alexa” CIA listening devices…  However, most, even the poorest of the poor, will receive this prayer via a humble ‘blog’ posted in their honor;

Sea Cape Cod, and crew, is wishing them a better future ahead…

America is the ‘land of the free’ as the saying goes…

But how free are we?

When consumed by consumption, buying ‘things’ we don’t need or even want if one took the ‘time’ to read the fine print, we kiss this next statement goodbye.  We all forget about it, toss it aside as if it were the wrapping paper we throw out ‘at the end of the day’…

Christmas is meant to reflect and act upon what really matters;

…giving LOVE!

Love for one’s fellow man, love for the beauty of this miraculous natural world, love for one’s loved one’s, love for the community they, and we all live in…

That part is easy…

What is hard is the love one must find for one’s ‘enemies’…

For the ‘enemy’ you recognize in some other soul exactly like your own, is the enemy inside of you.

Thus, forgive thine ‘enemies’ and find the similarities therein, thereby finding salvation that will guide you to the REAL present under the tree.

Merry Christmas to ALL and to ALL a good day, moreover, a peaceful, loving, restful night!

‘Twas a morning before Christmas….

Filed under: Blog — Michael @ 7:06 am

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the cold, soon to be snow showered, simple, supreme, and very sexy island of Nantucket! Indeed, it is the morning before Christmas, a little after 5 a.m. and it is, of course, The Twenty-Fourth Day of December, 2018.

One might ask this ‘humble’, sometimes idiotic ‘writer’ what the heck fire he is doing up at this hour…, wrapping presents for the kids?  Perhaps in a metaphorical way ’tis true.  For the friends and family that I am blessed to have in my life, albeit far, far away, and many memories of miles therein, those gifts of hope, love, light and frogs and nature’s best are already under their tree wherever that tree may be…

I pray to all I have met on this journey of fifty plus years they are all safe and sound, well and rested, moreover, loved and full of the greatest, good luck this coming New Year will offer…

Back here on this little sand bar created 11,500 years ago by ‘The Last Great Ice Age’, via retreating glaciers, it is still dark outside of Sea Cape Cod’s ‘global’ headquarters deep within the woods of Hyannis, Massachusetts…

However, an ever promise of the sun rising again, with perhaps a dusting of ‘Frosty’s“Christmas Snow” will adorn the many beautiful lights that give rise to the hearts, minds and moreover the souls of Man.

So desperately needed ‘at this juncture’…

We lost a former U.S. President this year by the name of George H.W. Bush.  I wish his journey to that next plane to be seamless and ask whoever is truly running this Universe, for after all, it is you and me and the LOVE we give to one another, to forgive all wars, acts of aggression, greed, and most of all hate and violence.

For in the coming AGE;

…those old behaviors will not exist...

SEA you tomorrow!

God Bless you ALL!

Real Rock & Roll!

Filed under: Blog — Michael @ 6:56 am

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and mighty surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the cool, crisp, perhaps Christmas snow on the way for that wonderful, wondrous, wild and woolly island of Nantucket! It is quite early, well before dawn on this Saturday ‘morn, The Twenty-Second Day of our Lord, in this blessed month of December, 2018…

Perhaps this is a love letter to a place where many moons ago, this ‘humble’ and rather arrogant, broken, broken hearted ‘reporter’ left his home state of Colorado, Denver/Boulder to a place where he found love once before; and knew he would find again. Lo, to start a new life in a place he loved so much from his youth when he would summer there when he knew it all, he was bullet proof and proud as the day is long…  He found that love on some Christmas Stroll in that fateful year of 1997, and perhaps, just perhaps, he may find “it” again, you know, that “it”, that only essence in this world that is TRULY real…

He was wrong…

Or was he?

When I wrote “Taking Fog to Nantucket”, the ‘fog’ was your’s truly…

I was the FOG!

The gift this Christmas under my ‘Charlie Brown’ Christmas tree back in my adopted home of Hyannis/Hyannis Port is simply this:

Merry Christmas to all on Nantucket, with all my love.  Especially the crew at ACK.FM, the best in the business, Chris Reiser, along with hilarious James Munder,

ESPN’s Keith Olbermann protege Chris Morris, and that special lady DJ extraordinaire, Nancy Walker… (and her co-worker ‘George’; the black lab!)

She spoke yesterday of her recent ‘moves’ around the island and parts unknown and via my latest adventure to Provincetown, ‘thinking’ that would be a great place to finish ‘that great American novel’, in the dead of winter with a population less than Casper, Wyoming, 999 souls, perhaps even less. A true ghost town where from my bedroom window this humble boy witnessed, truly witnessed, walking down Commercial street, well after midnight, dressed in their finest Sunday best from the 18th century, and no, I was not under any mind altering substances, happy spirits that, after the hundred or so passed, left me with a peaceful, good feeling.  An experience I will always be grateful for… Yes sir, it reminded me of the winter (’97-98), I spent on the frozen tundra of the Grey Lady’s landscape, lo, attempting to escape the corporate rat race, hoping to finally cut the golden handcuffs therein…  I worked for a short spell at Island Airlines and lived at Surfside with a great builder from Nantucket, a great, talented carpenter named Matt Graham.

Whom I wish God’s Speed!

Needless to say say I flew back to L.A. on a frigid early February in 1998, a nice red eye out of Logan…

All I add to this long winded ‘blog’ is her recent story of her beloved dog George, the Black Lab. I recently lost one due to old age, but I remember once during my many moves on this little sand bar and her islands was his insistence that these card board boxes would go no further than his strong, black paws would allow…

No where;

save as a new toy to chew on.

So, having lived in California many, many years of my 50 years on this planet, I wish you, Nancy Walker, all the BEST this season;

moreover, Good Luck in your next step on this great journey we all call life…

Quite a roller coaster indeed!

After all, It never was a destination, just a wonderful journey hopefully filled with good luck, great friends and family; even “strangers” sharing it along that holy path…

Have a beautiful Saturday morning, afternoon, evening, Christmas and New Year you fine, fine folks of Nantucket;

Especially the Nantucket Police Department and all peoples from beyond a little gem 27 miles from the shores of Cape Cod~

God Bless!

Merry Corporate Christmas!

Filed under: Blog — Michael @ 10:22 am

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the damp, mild, windy, and and soon to be quite rainy island of Nantucket! Great to be back with you on this Winter Solstice, occurring around five p.m. eastern on this Twenty-First day of December, 2018…, a Friday before Christmas on this coming Tuesday and by all accounts, ‘The Grinch’ is up to his normal mischief.

Fear not children from 1 to 92, indeed, the spirit of Dr. Seuss lives on in the hearts and minds of what this season represents, as the Grinch’s heart grew ten times that fabled year!

Love for one’s fellow man, the animals and plants that share this beautiful, mighty, mysterious, and most powerful Earth we all share for that brief moment in “Thyme”…

Sea Cape Cod has made it’s way back from “Land’s End”, or it’s beginning, the great village of Provincetown, where he was treated well and felt the magic, mystery, lore and love therein….

Thanks to all who were a part of that great month long experiment, Erik, Eric, Raphael, all the moms, uncles, cousins, and crew; thank you for that great Thanksgiving.  It will never be forgotten…

Moreover, I thank the bike trails of the fabled “Provincelands”, the first true ‘commons’ in this country, now incorporated into “Cape Cod Cod National Sea Shore”, circa1961, which this humble reporter highly recommends…  Indeed, exploring the many, inexplicable bike paths in the months of late October and all of November.  No people, or distractions to take from the moment in ‘time’ as one rests on an ancient dune out in the middle of the most eastern point in America… Race Point Light a good mile hike out onto a beach that stares out into the abyss of the Atlantic.  Haunting indeed…  Humbling as well…

Talk about sky lighting color of God’s green earth…

Lo,next to the Boston Common, the first public common many centuries ago, establishing the Capitol on Beacon Street atop Beacon Hill, I wish you to all a very Merry  Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy ‘Festivis’, Season’s greetings and by gum just a great New Year to come!

Sea Cape Cod will be back with you soon, back here at her ‘global’ headquarters in the great hub of Hyannis, shall be back in the saddle, God Willing!

Almost just as historic, but, as with all these wonderful Cape towns and Islands,

…like the good girls and boys awaiting Santa;

they all have their own quite unique personalities…

p.s. If you want to make a worthy donation, send it to the Provincetown Police Dept.

….well under way with their annual children’s toy drive!

Ho! Ho! Ho!

Have a rockin’ day at  SEA sir!

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the clear, conscious, seven Karat island of Nantucket!  Great to be with you and yours on this early Wednesday morning, broadcasting LIVE from the great sea side village of Provincetown; The Fifth Day of December, 2018….

Having just moved to this true winter ghost town on land’s end, or it’s beginning, this humble ‘reporter’ must offer this;

“…there’s no time!”

Ireland’s favorite son…

SEA you soon!
