Stay the course?

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the rainy, windy, warm island of Nantucket! Great to be with you on this dark and stormy Wednesday morning–the 30th day of September, 2015–heavy sheets of water pouring down from the Heavens above, indeed, lots and lots of water all up and down the East Coast today, with perhaps a hurricane on the horizon…

It has been ten years since the debut of an eye opening documentary entitled, “Wal-Mart; The High Price of Low Cost”–an independent film by Robert Greenwald– and perhaps in this ever growing insanity of the globalization of our species to the highest bidder, we should take another look at what this company has wrought upon American small towns from California to the New York Islands…

Walmart is known for it’s low, low non-livable wages (Walmart drives down wages by 3 billion each year), environmental degradation to U.S. water sources, a complete lack of care (security), for it’s patrons safety after they leave the store, overpriced and out of reach employee health care insurance, and the outrageous subsidies the corporation receives each year from Mr. and Mrs. U.S. Tax Payer, and of course the “standard” set for industry in sweat shop labor factories devoid of human dignity.  Abhorrent labor practices mostly in Asia.   Begging the question, has anything really changed in ten years?  The reality of the world’s largest retailer is awesome, it’s power is startling.

How can ma and pa shops all over the U.S. compete with a monster like Walmart?

They can’t.

The many tentacles of this cancerous corporation are clear for all to SEA. For the ripple effect does not stop at one employee, or ‘associate’ as they are called in Walmart Land.  Real Estate values always take a nose dive when a new Walmart rolls into town.  “Always low prices!” Turning many a town that fell victim to it’s charm–the temptation of easy money (the lie “it” would eventually give 100% of tax revenue to whatever town it had invaded)–into one with the word ghost in front of said word, looking as if a neutron bomb had gone off in Middlefield, Ohio, or anywhere USA for that matter a Walmart once stood or still does…

“You can’t buy quality small town life at a Wal-Mart. And once they steal it from you, you can’t get it back at any price.”

People who speak for the .001% (the ruling aristocracy/plutocracy/oligarchy/Monarchy), in this nation and world at large (politicians who are bought and sold), always will provide injustice to the TRUTH. They LIE for a living. The puppets mutter something like the ‘…poor (e.g., Walmart employees), are gaining the system, abusing the social safety net, using it as–and I quote the slick, upcoming Republican congressman from the great state of Wisconsin, Paul Ryan–…a hammock.”

The polar opposite is true of course, as this particular company, in order to ‘meet it’s obligation to it’s shareholders’, the ‘bottom line’…), deliberately pays low, unlivable wages, and provides health care it’s employees cannot afford, all done so as to steer them to care of the state.  Managers explaining how people can get food stamps, pay their electric bill, attain section 8 housing, receive Medicare, WIC or many other programs designed to keep real, live American citizens from falling beneath the cracks of our already crumbling society.  They do this to save money and thus make more money for themselves; the numbers prove it. Numbers don’t lie unlike former Walmart CEO Lee Scott, what a piece of work!  Ten years ago, the U.S. Tax Payer ‘gave’ 1.557 billion dollars to support this egregious and immoral company. Sea Cape Cod does not have the numbers for 2015, but I am sure they have not changed all that much.  In fact, if one were a betting man, one might bet ‘the house’ those tax payer gouges have only gone up, way up!

The “Fleecing of America”, the fleecing indeed.

Walmart considers ‘full-time’ employment to be 28 hours a week.  At 7 bucks an hour, that adds up to just over 12 thousand dollars a year.  Could you feed a family of three on that?  I put it to you Congressman Ryan?  How ’bout that health care premium?  Could you swing that?

Many associates arrive at work already hungry, tired and broke and yet, around Christmas time, circa 2004, those same slave wage workers gave 5 million to their fellow ‘associates’, whereas the Walton Family (a five member family worth well over 120 BILLION!), gave 6000 bucks to that same motley crew. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

But that is just in America.  Go to the ‘factories’ in Asia, mostly China, and one will witness the grim reality of the free market, monetary-market system at work.  For between 13-17 cents an hour, mostly women get up at the crack of dawn, living in appears to be a forced labor camp sporing horrid living conditions, work from 7 am until 10 that night, only to do it all over again the next day.  7 days a week, 365 days a year.  Workers with NO rights at all, beaten by their ’superiors’;  never, ever given forbidden human Love from those making said billions off of their broken backs.

Wal-Mart has also given the 1972 Clean Water Act a run for it’s money by gosh by golly, being fined 3.1 million by the EPA for Clean Water Act violations in 2004 in Texas, Colorado, California, Delaware, Michigan, South Dakota, New Jersey, Tennessee and Utah.  In 2005, Connecticut’s EPA ordered Walmart to pay  1.1 million for Clean Water Act violations in 22 stores.  Careless care of toxic chemicals from it’s garden center (bags of fertilizer and such); deadly poison allowed to just run off into some river in some town that nobody has heard of.  Leaving it’s citizens prey to all of the toxins therein.  But what are few million dollars to a corporation that makes tens of billions upon billions in profit every year?  Chump change to the Waltons.

What about all the tax revenue Walmart promises to pay the lucky city it digs it’s talons into?  It’s all in the slight of hand., nothing to SEA here folks!  For after a year in business, when the obligation to begin paying 100% of sales tax revenues kicks in, Walmart simply picks up stakes, abandons the giant building it just built, and moves to the outskirts of town, wherein they receive all the benefits from captive customers in the area, without any of the tax liability.   In 2005, there was 26,699,678 square feet of empty Walmart stores in America, enough to build 29,666 classrooms to educate 593,326 kids.

How about safety/security for the many good American people, flooding money into this wonderful operation?  Not to worry, we got cameras!  But in order to save money, Walmart put up said security cameras in parking lots, and filled those security offices with the ghosts that haunt many of small town America today.  Friendly ghosts like Casper.  Ghosts, of course, are relatively inexpensive, thus act as perfect employees, requiring no compensation/benefits at all.  But, apparently, that turned out to be a problem for the world’s largest sweat shop, I mean retailer. For there have been, over this past decade, countless attacks on patrons coming out of a Walmart store and going into the parking lots where they are either robbed, raped or killed.  Real emergencies from coast to coast, prompting a national outcry a few years back, ever reminding US that Walmart is more interested in protecting it’s property over it’s patrons.

Protecting PROFIT over people!

One must query what the ghost of Sam Walton think of all this…

The old song and dance ever playing within this new 21st century Global business model embedded within a rigged monetary-market system; an outdated, unsustainable human problem that is systematically destroying communities, families, individuals, democracy, the overall health of the planet’s environment/species and perhaps, someday, mankind itself.

The United States of America broke up Rockefeller’s oil monopoly ‘embodied’ by Standard Oil in the early 20th century, as did it split up Ma Bell, creating FAIR competition and a true free market (with some common sense anti-TRUST laws and logical regulations with sharp, strong teeth). Creating a market that did not automatically favor a few people to become even richer than they already were.  ALL at other people’s EXPENSE, not to mention the planet as a whole.  WE can do that again.

And WE will.

Put up your DUKES

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the cloudy, rather humid and warm island of Nantucket!  Great to be with you on this Tuesday morning–the 29th day of September, 2015–another good day out to be on the Hyannis/Hyannis Port Waterfront(s), for one must look at a calendar to really believe it is almost October, what with the low temperature being in the high sixties last night…

But what of this Global Warming “hoax”? I put it to you Republican Oklahoma Senator James Inhofe!  China seemed to have received that elusive memo. Indeed, The People’s Republic of China’s leader, Xi Jinping, has made the banned concept of reducing Carbon emissions in America a priority for that giant economy, bringing logic and reason back into the discussion about a coming cataclysm that will bring much misery to this little blue planet if something is not soon…

Of course, animal agriculture is responsible for 51% of GLOBAL WARMING, but whose counting?  That stat coming from the UN itself, circa 2012.  The UN is a place of much friction these days, even as China’s Xi Jinping exits stage left, speaking of peace and massive reduction of green house gasses, another player by the name of Vladimir Putin, Premier of Russia enters that stage.  With a fist in the air, vows continued help (military hardware), to a dictator in Syria whose name is not worth mentioning.  Continued help with the ongoing bloody assault on his own people, prompting millions to flee to neighboring countries, hopefully well beyond to Europe; creating the worst humanitarian crisis‘ of mass, desperate migration since World War II.  Chaos, something that seems to be going around these days…

So many problems, so few solutions.  It is a good thing 2016 is right around the corner, for WE all know the big change will come when the PEOPLE wake up to certain unalienable FACTS about what the shadow government is doing while “Good Morning America” and “The Today Show” tell ya’ll about the cute little dog who called 911 and saved his owner’s life; ever ‘protecting’ it’s captive audience from real journalism that gets no air, telling human stories regarding this big and beautiful world, journalism that screams the actual news for the Love of God!

Have a great day everybody!  And week ahead, steering clear of the abundant wooden nickles thrown about by corporate propaganda moguls, coming to one in the form of bright, shiny object.  Or what the kids are calling “news”/entertainment broadcasts these days.  Mostly unwatchable drivel, void of content, heavy on sass, sex and boring, overdone salaciousness (obvious exceptions apply, i.e., “TRMS”, “All IN”, “The Last Word”…).

Irish Prayer

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the sunny (once again), beautiful, crisp island of Nantucket! It is very good to be with you on this Sunday afternoon, this 27th day of September, 2015, another day sent from Heaven above, bountiful sunshine, and perfect temperatures all week along the East Coast; Fall weather never being sweeter.

Pope Francis made quite an impression on the American citizenry, along with many other ‘folk’ out there in this sometimes misguided, vastly diverse, strong and wealthy nation.   Here’s hoping at least some of that Divine Light got through, future generations are counting on it.

Per his request, Sea Cape Cod will send off the Pope as he jets back to Rome with a simple Irish prayer.  We don’t have any Gold, Frankincense or Myrrh, at least not yet, but we thank you for coming to our shores and brightening up OUR LIVES!

A cardboard box

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the milky sun skied, cool and always inviting island of Nantucket! Great to be with you and yours on this Saturday morning, coming to you LIVE from the Hyannis/Hyannis Port Waterfront(s)–this Twenty-Sixth Day of September, 2015–another good day to be alive on a little sand bar that glaciers built during “The Last Great Ice Age” 11,500 years ago…

Pope Francis is all over the airwaves of this great and proud nation of very good people.  And why not?  The man who many believe is the closest human to our perception of God, has taken the East Coast by Storm.  Philadelphia today and early tomorrow when he jets back to Rome, yesterday New York City’s Madison Square Garden, where he gave a Mass that WILL be remembered.  And, of course, his Papal visit to Washington earlier this week, where he made his mark on the souls of some these elected representatives of “THE PEOPLE”.  Indeed, so much so that the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives resigned suddenly, notably right after meeting the Pope.  Coincidence?  You be the judge Greg!  It matters not what this simple reporter ‘thinks’, what is clear however is the FACT that his message of Love, Peace, Compassion, Mercy, Kindness, and above all FORGIVENESS (especially for oneself, one’s real self, as well as one’s “enemies”–resonated with one man in particular.  Republican Senator hailing from the great state of Ohio, John Boehner. A good man who was admirably emotional during the Pontiff’s speech to a Joint Session of Congress only days ago, continuing to be moved many times after that, and upon his announcemnt to the press core, he revealed a beaming smile, noting visible relief all over his face.  It was as if he was reborn and could breathe again.  God Bless you John!  May you have a wonderful rest of that LIFE.

For that is what it is all about, LIFE, and the preservation of it. I hope they got the memo.

And took it to heart.

The Unbelievable Belief

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the wonderfully sunny, calm, content island of Nantucket! Great to be with you on this Friday morning here at the Hyannis/Hyannis Port Waterfront(s)–the 25th day of September, 2015–another fine example of why one should consider vacation plans for this time of year; this secret of both this month and October being both great weather and fewer crowds, allowing one for some serious reflection if one is in to that ‘thing’ more than a few moments out of the year, yes, it seems that our little secret is finally out.  So come on down, we will, as always, leave that LIGHT on for ya!

The Pope brought the house down, so to speak, in New York City yesterday, as the “Pope-mobile”, a Jeep Wrangler convertible with a HALO on top, toured a few blocks of 5th Avenue in the Big Apple, arriving at St. Patrick’s Cathedral soon after and warmly greeted by dignitaries of all stripes, quickly proceeding with the task at hand, ‘Vespers’… It will be on to Philadelphia now where this man of LIGHT will shine again for the adoring crowds once again before jetting back to Rome on Sunday. Men, women and children of all faiths, walks of life, economic situations, you name it, all those “differences” vanishing into thin air, as the unspoken truth embodies a yearning for something most don’t know they already possess.

LOVE.

Perhaps it is the recognition of something that has manifested into human form and had been sorely missing for so many folks for so long–citizens of the US simultaneously being married to the never ending wars, famine, mass migrations, reality TV political nonsense as usual–that there has been some epic shift in the consciousness, the awareness of people and how they are now seeing the world, as it is and how it could improve.  For this Pope Francis of Argentina has really changed hearts and minds all around the world about what is really going on.  Ask a valid question, what has there been lately in this man made world that is so ‘advanced’, what indeed has there been on this planet of constant consumption, to be excited about, grateful about, happy about? Joyful enough to cry out at a crowded church, “…WE LOVE YOU POPE FRANCIS!’?

LOVE incarnate

In the absence of conflict there is only peace.  In the presence of peace there can never be differences. In the absence of differences there cannot be separation.  In the absence of separation there is only one Self–And that is God, and you, and me, And all brothers in all of Creation–One vast harmony of creation and being.  And so it is you must cherish your conflict In order to believe in your small “s” self.  If ever you come to true peace, the peace of God, Then your ego will disappear in a moment, without effort.  And your ego, which you believe to be you, KNOWS THAT.  And so you seek to maintain conflict in order to remain here.  And how do you do that?  BY BELIEVING YOUR CONFLICT BRINGS YOU JOY.

But, if you think for a moment, Do you not realize that conflict is pain?  And when you think about the conflict Of which you are aware in your life, Are you not aware that it is painful?  And, of course, all of you are.  And yet, within the structure of your ego, You believe that your pain is not pain, That your pain is joy.

“How is that?”, you might ask.  You have confused joy with the idea That you can be separate and alone. You have structured this ego, this world, in such a way that you can believe that your are isolated, Alone and weak, a being of frailty and ultimate death.  That is by your design.  And so you have tricked your thinking mind into believing That whatever supports that belief in isolation, The aloneness, the frailty and the eventual death–That whatever supports that belief Is what creates what your are and gives you life.”

And you do know, of course, that life itself and being IS joy.  And so, in your confusion, You believe that whatever supports your ego is a source of joy.  And thus you struggle and compete And claw your way through a war of individual existences, To preserve itself in the face of billions of others.  All for the purpose of believing That in doing so you become more joyful.  And already you have seen clearly in your own mind Without me even telling you.  That of course is not joy.  It is conflict:  “the unbelievable belief”…

The great healing…

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the wonderfully Golden sun laden, crisp, bright blue skied island of Nantucket! Great to be with you and yours on this Thursday–’High Noon’ at the Hyannis/Hyananis Port Waterfront(s)–this 24th day of September, 2015, another exquisite day on said waters and here’s hoping you are in good spirits, especially all them rascals on Capitol Hill today, awaiting Pope Francis to have a few words…

Indeed, today will mark the first time a Pope will address a Joint Session of Congress, with the specific aim of waking them up.  Although, that will be a mighty task, for it would require leaving behind ego and all the fun that comes with “it”.

Yesterday, the masses were electric in Washington, as Pope Francis was met with throngs of all walks of human life, a sea of tiny cameras held high, painting a picture within itself, one filled with LOVE, KINDNESS, MERCY, COMPASSION, GRACE and JOY, all emoting from an abiding peace that screams humility above all.  Offering service and that extended hand of Love to all who are willing to reach out and grab it.

Pope Francis asked a reporter yesterday if he would pray for him.  In fact, he was quite animated about it.  Although Sea Cape Cod is just one small, very small, voice out in the middle of a vast ocean, we offer our best to you and pray that God keeps you in his back pocket.  For all of your loving work, none so much as your work with the poorest of the poor.  Indeed, applauding your words yesterday at the White House regarding the most critical issues of our ‘time’; the fate of man, along with millions of other species/geology/biology/chemistry that SHARE this world with US ALL, plant, animal, mineral alike, all hanging in the balance. Those are, of course, GLOBAL WARMING and the world wide GRAND CANYON gap between those who “have” and those who have not.

Thank you Pope Francis, thank you for coming to America!

For your entertainment or enlightenment, a few words of said Light unto a darkened world, one that does not have to be…

Prince Spaghetti Day

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the sunny, cool, crisp and quite delightful island of Nantucket! Great to be with you and yours on this beautiful early Autumn morning, coming to you LIVE from the Hyannis/Hyannis Port Waterfront(s).  It is a seasonal Wednesday, September the 23rd, 2015, and here’s hoping your day is going well, improving as you wander ‘above deck’ , taking in one of the many Jewels scattered about this little sand bar created 11,500 years ago by ‘The Last Great Ice Age’; indeed, the green, green, green marshes adorning “Barrier Beach” in the hamlet of Hyannis Port, offer up testimony that is undeniable.  Loved by many, none so much as the Kennedy Family, who stood for something for more than “me, mine and MORE”…

Pope Francis will be busy today with law makers and lunches, Masses and Miracles, with the emphasis on the latter.  Washington D.C. is all a buzz at this hour, with Papal energy running rough shod over the normal “at the end of the day’ kind of day observers normally witness from the people who apparently run things in this country.  Run them indeed.

The Pope will be focused on solutions that must be put into action soon, lo they fall victim to the truism–‘Faith without works is dead.’

Homelessness in this very, very wealthy nation is a black eye on our society as a whole and proves to the rest of the world that the United States is more interested in the affairs of the few, while turning that black, bruised, bloody and blind eye to the desperate needs of a growing number of men, women and children in America today.  Scoffing and spitting at the plight of the poorest of the poor…

Jesus said many moons ago man must lovingly care for ‘the least of us’, for, and he put it quite clearly, it is how one treats that ‘least of US’ that will determine one’s ultimate fate after shaking this mortal coil.  Discovering that one has no ‘enemies’, while still alive is quite rewarding, thus, free from resentments, anger, hate and all of the other lesser angels of our nature, opting rather for the MIRACLE that is LOVE.,  For only Love will his heart free.   Free forever.

A HOLY Touch

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the sunny, cool, breezy island of Nantucket! Great to be with you on this 21st day of September, 2015, a brisk Monday morning and top of it to you and yours!

This week, beginning tomorrow, the United States (notably Washington D.C., New York City and Philadelphia), will be alive with electricity and a touch of Grace, for Pope Francis will be visiting OUR shores on a whirlwind tour of this country’s largest and most prominent cities, at least those on the East Coast.  The pontiff will arrive, most likely in coach, on Tuesday at 4 p.m., landing at Joint Base Andrews. On Wednesday, he will meet with President Obama at a White House ceremony around 9 a.m., before a Papal Parade along the Ellipse and the National Mall.  At 11:30 a.m., he will give a Midday Prayer with U.S. Bishops at Saint Matthews Cathedral in D.C., followed up at 4:15 p.m. with the Junipero Serra Canonization Mass at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.

On Thursday, at 9:20 a.m., Pope Francis arrives at the U.S. Capitol and at 10 he will give a speech to the United States Senate and the House of Representatives (Joint Session of Congress), and directly after will make a brief appearance on the West Front of Capitol Building.  At 11:15 the Pope will visit St. Patrick’s Cathedral in DC and Catholic Charities of the Archdioceses of Washington.  He will then depart Washington for New York’s JFK where he will give an Evening Prayer at St. Patrick’s (New York) at 6:45 p.m.

On Friday, at 8:30 a.m., the Pope will address a General Assembly of the UN. At 11:30 that morning he will  offer prayers at multi-religious services at the 9/11 Memorial and Museum; World Trade Center.  At 4, he will be in East Harlem at Our Lady Queen of Angels School, followed up by a Papal Motorcade through Central Park, and then on to a giant indoor Mass at Madison Square Garden at 6 p.m.

On Saturday morning he will fly to Philadelphia where he will preside over Mass once again at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints’ Peter and Paul. At 4:45 p.m., the Pontiff will visit Independence Mall and at 7:30 that evening, he will visit Festival of Families at Benjamin Franklin Parkway and Prayer Vigil with World Meeting of Families.  On Sunday, there will be a Papal meeting with Bishops at St. Martin Chapel, St. Charles Borromeo Seminary. At 11, the Pope will visit the Curran-Fromhold Correctional Facility, and at 4 will celebrate Mass with the World Meeting of Families. At 7, he will meet organizers and volunteers, benefactors and the World Meeting of Families at Atlantic Aviation, whereupon he will depart for Rome.

This epic visit will draw upwards of tens of millions of U.S citizens, both in there in person as well as viewing on the many electronic devices man has at this disposal today, creating more of ONE than “I”; all attesting to catch some humble, yet Awesome Touch glowing from this Argentinian born Pontiff.  Offering a peace that is beyond doubt, danger or despair. His humanity, and said humility, walks the talk Jesus prescribed 2000 plus years ago.  Bringing to LIGHT the many, many, many glaring problems mankind faces in this sometimes inhuman 21st century.  A century this “intelligent” species better get a hold of soon, or there will be no more planet to bless.

There will also be no more talk of ‘the economy’… For without a planet that is in balance with itself (i.e mankind’s blind eye and profit driven mentality, a form of mental illness, that underlies this insane constant promotion of environmental degradation/destruction/decay), there simply will not be a place to call home and thus, “the economy” will be a thing of the past, it won’t be relevant any longer.  The health of the planet hanging in the balance of this questionable and rather sick human behavior.  And that, will be that, over and out…

And the inhabitants of said beautiful Blue Rock in a blessed and lucky “Goldie Locks Zone” will doomed to an atmosphere growing ever hotter.  One eventually reconciled and labeled inhabitable to man or any other living being. The furry, wet and slighted creatures who are helpless to the vicious nature of this so called intelligent MAN.  Maybe not today or tomorrow, but by this ‘time’ one hundred years from NOW, one must wonder what our beloved planet    ~EARTH~    will look like?  What will happen to all of her wonderful animals, such as the many species of Whale?  What of the Cape Cod Cardinals? Great Blue Herons and Siberian Tigers?  The Holy African Lions, the majestic Polar Bears, and all of the other blessed babies out in the oceans, mountains, glaciers, meadows, forests, fields and sky? Yes, what will it all look like Senator? And is that your real name?  And who do you really work FOR?   What will it look like indeed, via a never ending, unholy modus operandi of PROFIT over people? This so called “New World Order” that has nothing to do with the ALMIGHTY. Begging the question for all of US and the world at large,

“…what will those still living in 2115 think of OUR folly?”

Some thoughts perhaps Pope Francis will touch upon may very will be the GRAND CANYON gap between the haves and the have nots (unsustainable), as well as that careless, reckless, insanity of mankind’s continued blindness to the reality of GLOBAL WARMING.  Along with all of the devastation therein to come…

A Bed of Red Roses

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the sunny, warm, pleasant island of Nantucket! Good to be with you on a Friday morning–the 18th day of September, 2015–wonderful as always to be with you on yet another great late summer day offered up by this sand bar created by the ‘Last Great Ice Age’ roughly 11,500 years ago.  A blink of the cosmic eye if you will…

Kip Andersen, a young film maker/documentary wizard, a true environmentalist, from the greater Los Angeles area, put together a film in the past year or so that will blow your socks off, one that many in the country have most likely not seen, but will someday soon.  It tells the story of how this coming cataclysm called GLOBAL WARMING is only getting worse, addressing the chief causes of this human created folly.

For your review, are some environmental “fun facts”, plus disturbing quotes from this must SEA documentary entitled, “Cowspiracy; the sustainability secret”. Sea Cape Cod gives this work one two thumbs way up, way way up! (credit the late, great Roger Ebert).

“The world’s top climate scientists tell us that the highest level of safe emissions would be around 350 parts per million of green house gases into the atmosphere.  We are already at 400.  They tell us the safest rise in overall global temperatures (if WE are to stave of the worst effects of drought, famine, human conflict, major species extinction), would be 2 degrees Celsius.  We are rapidly approaching that and with all the built in carbon dioxide already in the atmosphere, we are easily going to exceed that.  So on our watch, we are facing the next major extinction of species on the Earth, something we have not seen since the days of the dinosaur.”

Methane is 86 times more potent than Carbon Dioxide and is produced en masse via the animals’ digestive processes.  It is the leading cause of resource consumption and environmental degradation, a problem that is destroying the planet today.  The nation’s leading environmental agencies, all businesses in their own right–350.org, Sierra Club, Greenpeace, Climate Reality, Amazon Watch, Rain Forest Action Network, all of them–have been silent about the issue for decades..

Why the silence?

Natural gas and oil production, with ‘fracking’ being the new dirty kid on the block, due to water usage and contamination, have mostly been focused on by these groups over the years, completely ignoring the ELEPHANT staring at everybody inside the local Starbucks.  Sure, fracking takes tons of water, in fact the U.S. uses over 100 billion  gallons each year in this criminal behavior.  But, when compared with animal agriculture, raising live stock in just the U.S. consumes 34 trillion gallons each year;  Methane emissions being equal.

According to Kip, it takes 660 gallons of water to produce one quarter pound hamburger, equivalent to showering for two months…“I’m loving’ it!” Domestic use of water in the U.S. accounts for only 5 percent of overall consumption, whereas animal agriculture accounts for 55%, that’s because it takes 2500 gallons of water to produce one pound of beef.

Animal agriculture produces 65% of of the world’s Nitrous Oxide emissions (296x more potent than Carbon), with the obvious question being, “why are we not also focused on other green house gases other than fossil fuels?” Energy related CO2 emissions are expected to increase 20 percent by the year 2040.  Yet emissions from agriculture are expected to increase by 80% by the year 2050.  This is mostly due to an increase in the world’s dairy and meat consumption.  According to lead scientists at the World Bank, animal agriculture is responsible for 51% of human cause climate change. Raising animals for food is responsible for 30% of the world’s water consumption, occupies up to 45% of the Earth’s land, is responsible for 91% of Amazon Rain Forest deforestation, is the leading cause of ocean dead zones, habitat destruction and species extinction.

Dr. Richard Oppenlander–Author,”Comfortably Unaware”–environmental researcher, stated, “…so my calculations are, without using any gas, or oil, or fuel, ever again, from this day forward, that we would still exceed our maximum carbon equivalent greenhouse gas emissions (565 gigatons), by the year 2030 (without the electricity or energy sector factoring in to the equation).  All, simply by raising and eating livestock.”

Kirk Smith, mPH, PhD, University of California, Berkeley; Professor of Global Environmental Health, made the remark, “…you reduce the amount of Methane emissions, the level in the atmosphere goes down fairly quickly, within decades.  As opposed to CO2, where you don’t see a signal in the atmosphere for a hundred years or so…

Demosthenes Maratos, with “The Sustainability Institute”, at Malloy College, “…it’s an environmental disaster that is being ignored by the very people who should be championing.  Deforestation, land use, water scarcity, the destabilization of communities, world hunger, the list does not stop…”

Dr. Will Tuttle–environmentalist, and ethics author–put it best when he said, “…10,000 years ago, free living animals made up 99% of the bio mass on Earth, with humans making up only 1%.  Today, 10,000 years later, really, just a fraction of time, we human beings, and the animals we own as property, make up 99% of the bio mass, with free living animals making up 1%.  We have basically stolen the EARTH from free living animals.  The primary cause of the loss of species of Earth is due to overgrazing and livestock production on land and over fishing (fishing), in our oceans.  We are in the middle of the largest mass extinctions of species in 65 million years.  Rains forests being cut down at the rate of an acre a second, and the driving force behind this is animal agriculture.  Cut down forests, graze animals, grow genetically engineered soy beans to feed cows, pigs, chickens and fish…

The EARTH now the environmental polar opposite of what it was 10,000 years ago; mankind forgetting from whence he came…

I wonder why that was not talked about on that ‘dang GOP debate the other night Marge?

Miracle on 34th Street?

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the once again sunny, beautiful, tranquil island of Nantucket! Great to be with you on this Thursday morning–the 17th day of September, 2015–another spectacular day out on the Hyannis/Hyannis Port Waterfront(s), expecting some more of this fabulous weather to continue until that old North Wind begins to blow…

There will be a lot of ‘talk’ regarding “God” in this continuing reality TV show masking as a presidential election cycle here in the United States of America, save the campaign “Of, By and FOR the PEOPLE”, namely the dark horse Democratic challenger to Hillary Clinton, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, who is taking the country by storm with his no nonsense, no ego, no hor$e$hit message that something must change if we are to remain a thriving, functioning democracy with that little letter ‘d’… A “change” or an awakening?  “Back in the good old days of President Ronald Reagan, didn’t the “Gipper” tell US that God has indeed bestowed his love on thee…?

Unto whom did he bestow such Awesome GRACE, LOVE and ABUNDANCE?

Indeed, the use and abuse of ‘the Almighty’, “the Lord”, the invisible man in the sky who powers that be use to their advantage, lo, this ‘man’ will be wielded once again as a weapon to steer the masses this way or that, all down in the smoke and mirror filled horror show that is Madison Avenue and their employment of cunning Ad wizards, created out of raw fear to keep said masses in their voting place.  However, in this “dark” and scary ‘time’ of political untruths, keep this hidden quote in mind the next time some one speaks on “God’s” behalf…

Bright Lights!

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the sunny, gorgeous, temperate island of Nantucket! Great to be with you on a Wednesday morning–the Sixteenth Day of September, 2015–coming to you LIVE on yet another incredibly beautiful “Indian Summer” day at the Hyannis/Hyannis Port Waterfront(s)! Although most Native Americans, such as the indigenous Wampanoag of “Cape Cod”, might take issue at such a slander, or is it one?  Hard to know in the day and age of political correctness, correctness that liquid papers over the real issues facing the citizenry of America today.  Such as the pressing down issue (for ALL!), of income inequality, failing/crumbling/broke U.S. education system, food deserts, and a profound lack of opportunity even “developing nations” would not envy…

And who doesn’t just love that hypocritical nonsense rearing it’s ugly head on talk show after talk show, e.g., the annual Republican outrage of “The War on Christmas”? One of many outrages/”wars” FOX and other propaganda outlets promote rather that common sense, reason and Love.  In fact, when most poor, disenfranchised, malnourished, under-educated, mostly African-American children in inner cities make their way to that ‘high holy day’ of Christmas, they will be lucky if they still have running water, save a “Charlie Brown Christmas Tree”!

The GRAND CANYON gap between the haves and the have nots in this US of A, a harsh reality in America today because of the flawed, greedy, insane policies of the GOP for the past fifty or so years, is the problem with America and the world today.  “That” my ‘friends, colleagues and countrymen’, that is this very daily ‘war on people’, not on Christmas.  If this spectacle were to be considered real, substantive, prescient, then that issue and many other social and environmental issues should be what this so called ‘debate’ on CNN tonight is all about!  WE should begin to care about ALL people who are not on the “right side of the tracks”; tracks (homes) bulldozed away by the hundreds daily in this crumbling, dying nation. Such as in the city of Detroit, once the fastest growing city in the world (1930), but now reduced to a cautionary tale of city whose canary in the proverbial coal mine exemplifies this transference of wealth for any and all the world to witness.  Wealth transference on a scale not seen by man in this modern era; rivaling King’s glory of ‘yore…

Anything goes in this 21st century “America”; especially when you have an entertainer/”I’m a lover, not a fighter?”/businessman/talk show host/magician/reality TV star (also is the producer, director, participant and overall audience)–”I’m everywhere Focker” (credit the 1992 film, “Meet the Parents”, starring Robert DeNiro and Ben Stiller)–leading the pack of 16 mostly politicians with an “R” next to their name who don’t have a clue what just hit them over the head.  So come on down as we rev up the engines once again on the old TV machine, grab some popcorn–per Keith Olbermann–and watch some more of them Republican debates on this marvelous new invention called ‘television’…  Marge, grab me my Pabst Blue ribbon in the kitchen will ya!

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the once again sunny, crisp, seasonal island of Nantucket! ‘Tis so good to be with you on this amazing 15th day of September, 2105.  A Tuesday to be sure, and if you are anything like this reporter, and I hope you are, then today is your kind of beach day; plenty to Golden sunshine, a slight breeze, the whole day to yourself, no chance of a cold front pushing on through any time soon, plus, you’ve got the whole place to yourself!  For all have ‘gone home’ to wherever that is, forgetting about this little sand bar created 11,500 years ago by “The Last Great Ice Age” for a moment; a place out out of ‘time’, one literally carved into the Magic it is today. Visited by millions every year from every point on the globe, for the soul purpose of just that…

Although that spirit may be far, far away, consider this ‘thought’ as you go about that busy day of lobbying politicians in Washington D.C., driving kids to school, or anchoring a news desk somewhere….

WE are all part of ONE infinite Consciousness.  One interested in healing; as opposed to destruction.

Fortune Teller

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the lovely, Golden Sun laden, breezy and crisp island of Nantucket! Great to be with you and yours on this Monday morning– the Fourteenth Day of September, 2015.  Cooler temperatures are letting this late summer day know, on the Hyannis/Hyannis Port Waterfront(s), that Fall is on the way, and with the changing of the leaves, dipping temperatures, fewer sunlight hours and the attention put back on ‘the things of man’, who could not be excited about the coming reality TV show hit, “The Republican Debates on CNN”!

That’s right folks, it’s almost that time again, so go on, get the kids, grab your honey, the popcorn, your favorite blanket/cozy sleep wear and come on down!  We’re getting ready to rumble Wednesday night as 11 individuals with a big “R” next to their name will tell the very nervous 320 million or so “American People” that “they”, and they alone, are the candidate to take this country forward into this turbulent 21st century, lo, they are the savior to lead it’s sheep, I mean it’s people, via that sacred Ayn Rand modus operandi, and forged into “holy” scripture, via Paul Ryan’s pen, or was it the Koch Brother’s pen?, yes, the “Path to Prosperity”, a document, that, if enacted into “Law” would most assuredly take out any and all social safety nets set up in the 1930’s by then President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, a man whose jock strap these morons would not be qualified to carry.  Indeed a vote for a Republican is a vote against the common man, woman or child’s interests in this young United States of America.

Corporations will be Corporations…’

That’s the whole problem!  Forever manipulating the Executive, the Judicial and the Legislative most importantly, ever fighting tooth and nail to serve their own “best interests”, interests of the ‘better half’ (.001 percent of America’s ‘earners’). Those mostly born with a silver spoon in mouth, a mouth never filled; save a nasty appetite for more…

Yes, let us all rejoice in the gathering storm of wicked smart thought, reason and rhyme, providing US with a real path forward! A great and historic debate that will shake the house from San Francisco to Boston.  Although, perhaps those two geographical locales are not appropriate for this pep rally, so replace them ‘liberal’ meccas for Dallas, Houston, Columbus, Wichita, Little Rock, Tallahassee, Salt Lake City and many other “conservative” regions within this sinking ship (remembering that money=debt; hence, if one has “acquired” a whole boat load of money–i.e. big banks, big oil, “food inc”., big pharma, big insurance…the paper holders of said ‘institutions’, ‘establishments’, lo, the Titans of Industry that own, thus rule the World–then one can and will enslave a world of people in said debt.  “It” (the Corporatocracy), robs country after country (including this one!), of it’s natural resources, ever plunging the planet into an unsustainable crash landing with the reality of GLOBAL WARMING and the poisoning/utter destruction of the whole Environment), and you got yourself some real good TV to educate yourself on just how good those puppets on stage are going to be for you and your family as the “Illuminate” make their push to finally take over all of your civil liberties, including what you do for a living.

Because you won’t need one.

How much more evidence does one need when choosing a leader in 2016?

A vote for a Republican is a vote against your own best interests, those of your loved ones, and those of the planet. That is the bottom line.

Rolling Stones

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the sunny, beautiful, crisp island of Nantucket! Great to be with you on a glorious Saturday morning here at the Hyannis/Hyannis Port Waterfront(s)–the 12th day of September, 2015–and a good day to you and yours!  Here’s hoping the day is yours and yours alone; filled with all those things you wanted to do all week long…

When choosing a candidate to become a leader of a democracy, one must look to the human ego, or rather the size of ‘it’, so as to determine just how much this ‘presidency’ is about him or her personally, and how much is about the VAST majority of real, live, breathing fellow human beings that make up a so called Civilization (especially in a democracy with that little letter ‘d’, one that is supposed to care for ALL her peoples), he or she is about to lead into this tumultuous 21st century…

“Whatever form it takes, the unconscious drive behind behind ego is to strengthen the image of who I think I am, the phantom self that came into existence when thought–a great blessing as well as a great curse–began to take over and obscured the simple yet profound joy of connectedness with Being, the Source, God.  Whatever behavior the ego manifests, the hidden motivating force is always the same:  the need to stand out, be special, be in control;  the need for power, for attention, for more.  And, or course, the need to feel a sense of separation, that is to say, the need for opposition, enemies.  The ego always wants something from other people or situations.  There is always a hidden agenda, always a sense of “not enough yet”, of insufficiency and lack that needs to be filled.  It uses people and situations to get what it wants, and even when it succeeds, it is never satisfied for long.  Often it is thwarted in its aims, and for the most part the gap between “I want” and “what is” becomes a constant source of upset and anguish.  The famous and now classic pop song, “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction“–per “The Rolling Stones”–is the song of the ego.  The underlying emotion that governs all the activity of the ego is fear.  The fear of being nobody, the fear of nonexistence, the fear of death.  All its activities are ultimately designed to eliminate fear, but the most the ego can ever do is cover it up temporarily with an intimate relationship, a new possession, or winning at this or that.  Illusion will never satisfy you.  Only the truth of who you are, if realized, will set you free.  Why fear?  Because the ego arises by identification with form, and deep down it knows that no forms are permanent, and they are all fleeting.  So there is always a sense of insecurity around the ego even if on the outside it appears confident.  As I was walking with a friend through a beautiful nature reserve near Malibu in California, we came upon the ruins of what had been once a country home, destroyed by fire several decades ago.  AS we approached the property, long overgrown with trees and all kinds of magnificent plants, there was a sign by the side of the trail put there by the park authorities.  It read:  DANGER.  ALL STRUCTURES ARE UNSTABLE.  I said to my friend, “That’s a profound sutra  [sacred scripture].”  And we stood there in awe.  Once you realize and accept that all structures (forms) are unstable, even the seemingly solid material ones, peace arises within you.  This is because the recognition of the impermanence of all forms awakens you to the dimension of the formless within yourself, that which is beyond death.  Jesus called it “eternal life”.

American Essence

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the rainy, windy, cooling island of Nantucket. Great to be with you and yours on this somber day at the Hyannis/Hyannis Port Waterfront(s)–the Eleventh Day of September, 2015–a dark and stormy one out on said waters, perhaps reflecting the anniversary this day represents for many in this country, a country that has been told lie after lie to for so long it is sometimes hard to keep up; ‘lessen you be a history major!

The standard line WE have all been fed will be told once again today, much like all of the other tragedies that don’t really add up ‘at the end of the day’, in this nation’s dark history with violence and power. But for those families who lost loved ones fourteen years ago today in New York, Pennsylvania and Washington D.C., the real culprits responsible for such a monstrous act does not bring those lost back, hence, this day should be remembered for the lives they led and for the contribution they may have made to society at large.

For is it not what this whole exercise of LIFE is all about?  LIVING it to the fullest?

WE–as a nation and indeed world community–are being led down the primrose path...  We are programmed 24/7, and dictated what to think, what to wear, who to talk with (while being spied on!), fed “historical” nonsense, while simultaneously being brainwashed by Joseph Goebbels like Nazi propaganda, slaving away day in and day out in a rigged monetary-market system that only rewards those at the top of the pyramid.  Grown, intelligent men and women who are robbed of living LIFE, consumed in cages that they cannot SEA.

The multinational corporate stranglehold on this “media” in the country today would force a good man like the former CBS NEWS anchor, the late, great Walter Cronkite, to simply slap his hands on the anchor desk, sadly shake his head from side to side, stand up in the middle of the broadcast and quietly quit CBS “news” on AIR, promptly flying back to Martha’s Vineyard where he enjoyed his beautiful house in historic Edgartown, overlooking Chappaquiddick Island, eventually sailing off into the sunset, never, ever looking back…

The American public better WAKE UP soon to the FACT this country is being run by people who are not elected and who answer to NO one.  That is why someone like Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders is perhaps the only hope for this “democracy” to regain it’s original essence as was laid out by the original framers of OUR United States Constitution.  For within that rather short document one discovers the bold proclamation, it’s “mission statement” if you will, and does it with remarkable clarity, reason and a profound soundness of mind.

We, the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.”

How did we let the bad apples take that away from US?

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the thunderous, quite rainy and humid island of Nantucket! Great to be with you on a Rock & Roll kind of weather day at the Hyannis/Hyannis Port Waterfront(s)–the 10th day of September, 2015–the temperatures still well into the 80’s, but the parched soil just happy just to get the moisture.

The refugee crisis in Europe (people fleeing war torn Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan…), Hungary in particular, is astonishingly inhuman to say the least.  The wealthy oil rich nations–i.e., Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Emirates, Kuwait, etecetera–of the turbulent the Middle East have bowed out of helping the hundreds of thousands of human beings begging for their lives, as has this United States and many of our allies in very wealthy Europe, save Austria, Germany and Sweden. The Hungarians are displaying the worst human kind has to offer, with images coming to the world of brutal police thugs ’rounding up’ what are little more than prisoners now–innocent men, women and children–thrown into make shift camps that screams man’s future in that not too distant kind of way…

Can someone say FEMA?

Who knows what the Illuminati have in store for ‘the rest of US‘…

Judging from all the ‘fun’ going on with the shameless corporate media circus provided to the dumb-ed down “American People”, complete with lots of loud noises, shiny objects and little to no substance, the incessant drum beat of this insane reality “TV” show pastime must go on!  Does it not seem odd that the whole world is plugged in to a 5X7 ‘device’ that takes all of one’s attention, hence their awareness? An advertiser/dictators hottest wet dream!   Just say the magic words and presto, we got US a hostage situation folks!  That’s right, it’s the “Stockholm Syndrome” all over again (please note public opinion on the Iraq War circa 2003, 9/11, etc.) where the wealthy elite dupe the masses into feeling sorry for them in whatever self-pity party they are currently self-seeking at that particular present moment in ‘time’… Never, ever having any of that overbearing, greedy, unsustainable ‘business’ coinciding with the general welfare of the common man, woman or child in this “God fearing country”.  In fact, the polar opposite is true, as the race to the bottom goes on and on, pushing the boundaries of just how far WE can rape and pillage this big, beautiful, blue EARTH before man is no more; all in the name of an unholy PROFIT!

“One of these men may save your life someday, did you know that?” “…then again, one of them may not” (credit the classic film, circa 1981 “Stripes”, starring Bill Murray and the late, great writer, director, actor Harold Ramis); perhaps old Rick the first to SEA the LIGHT, as he sadly, surely and slowly slips into the great by and by of this vicious 2016 presidential election cycle.  So too will 16 of the other ‘candidates’ all vying to lead this great nation out of the adolescent years of this young 21st century.  Who will come out on top is anyone’s guess, but the show, as we have already stated, must go on, and who better to do that than the best, Mr. Donald Trump?  The crowds, lo, the universe LOVES him, have you not heard the great man’s words?  Thus, due to all of the polls 14 or so months before this pivotal election that will determine the fate of this failing democracy with that little letter ‘d’, we should all bow down to “Zod”; our new plutocratic best buddy, a true buffoon who will most likely lead US into another war that will bring more refugees in behind those already clamoring for a bed due to inclement weather, i.e., GLOBAL WARMING!

Have a nice Thursday everybody and steer clear of them wooden nickles thrown about by FOX “news”; side effects still include–but are not limited to–diarrhea, constipation, nausea, blurred vision, delusions of grandeur, blind rage, paranoia, schizophrenia, and the sneaking suspicion you, my friend, are actually the King of England!

Giddy up!

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the sunny, breezy, quite humid and warm island of Nantucket! Great to be with you on this 9th day of September, 2015, a busy Wednesday to be sure. The winds a whippin’ down at the old Hyannis/Hyannis Port Watefront(s), as this humble reporter planning on biking and swimming the day away, proving once one can look outside of the box society at large has found itself in, thus, I am obliged to utter these simple words meant in all sincerity, via the rock band “Pink Floyd”, “…wish you were here.”

Indeed, touring on said bike yesterday–past the Kennedy Compound and up the hill of Hawthorne arriving at the Hyannis Golf Club where OUR 35th U.S. President John F. Kennedy played many rounds, a remarkable view of Nantucket Sound and Squaw Island–one could not help but notice the coming changing of the seasons.  A passing of ‘time’ yes, but deeper in scope in this late year of 2015… It’s almost contagious as the likes political, pop culture, military, big business, the schools, all of it, the whole crazy, zany, madcap human experiment revs up for one more try at ‘progress’, a word that evades many reasoned minds, not to mention those whose idea of reason lies somewhere in the land of FOX ‘news’…

What is progress?  Is more of the same horse$hit we have been pulling for the past fifty or so years?  Bueller?

A movement–such as Democratic candidate to become this nations’ 45th president, that of Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders--is what this country needs if it is to survive the corporate onslaught against the OUR legacy of being an actual democracy with that little letter ‘d’.  Not one that can be bought via the folly of a U.S. Supreme Court decision in 2010 “Citizens United v FEC”.  A fatal decision that ushered in dark, undisclosed, immense amounts of monies from special interests, inviting Frankenstein into the political framework the actual framers of said democracy did not have in mind when they created this mostly harmonious society and nation we all love so…  Sweeping, real change is the only way out of this mess called the rigged monetary-market system that only rewards those whose address is or in the neighborhood of 740 Park Avenue in New York.

Make no mistake about it folks, the unsustainable ‘pathway to prosperity’ this ‘not your grandfather’s GOP’ would have you go down is nothing more than a brier patch, filled with painful thorns and tar.  A vote for any candidate the Republicans put out for mass consumption is a vote for the man or woman who will choose a plutocrats’ best interests over yours every day of the week, rain or shine.  You can take it to the bank, of course, not one of “OUR” banks thank you so much.  Members only, please sir, take your filthy business down the street to one of ‘your’ kind of financial ‘establishments’…

How is that 440 percent interest at “Pay Day Loans” working out for ya!

Money is the weapon; interest the bullet.

Sprechen sie deutsch?

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the sun laden, warm, rather humid an still quite breezy island of Nantucket! Great to be with you on this Tuesday–the eighth day of September, 2015–another great day to be on Cape Cod and those aforementioned Islands, as this summer weather has returned with a vengeance today, so cancel all of your Fall plans and come on back to the Cape!  WE still have some exploring to do!

The massive flood of humanity streaming in from the war torn countries of Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan hearkens one back to World War II, as refugees continue to make their way North, destination being either Austria, Germany or Sweden, perhaps the UK, with many actually making it yesterday, filling all hearts with a some good news for that change, with the world witnessing Germany extending a Loving hand to the “least of us.”  Pretzels, bratwurst, beer, you name it.  For you, it’s on the house!  The Germans opened up their wallets, hearts, minds and soul to these human beings who had no other choice (if they wanted their families and themselves to survive), but to leave what many consider to be a canary in the coal mine.  Many countries like Hungary turning their back on the crisis, as was seen by perhaps billions all around the world.

Nowhere to hide…

‘The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few’ and that sentiment is precisely the message U.S. Senator–from the great state of Vermont–Bernie Sanders is educating the American citizenry on, attracting unusually large crowds from coast to coast in this pivotal 2016 U.S. presidential election; democracy with that little letter ‘d’ being at stake.  For what difference will Syrian refugees be from those of Ferguson, Missouri, ten years from now if we don’t take a good hard look at a rigged system that offers nothing to those at the bottom save a good kick in the butt!  “Nothing” defined as no real opportunity for the vast majority of African-American children in the current broken education system, one wrought poverty, crime, decay and despair.  A socially stunted  environment, one so bad it takes a miracle to get one out, to get a leg up, or even a helping hand… Lo, to even get a small foothold out of the poverty cycle of death is an epic struggle day in and day out for most on the fringes of society today, never making the front page or the ‘top trending crap on the ’smart phone’ or TV machine;  a true electronic leash.  Millions of people around this country feeling squeezed by a militarized police state whose only goal it seems is to put more blacks in a sadistic and quite criminal for profit prison system, the great bane of America today, with well over 2.1 million mostly young black and brown men behind bars.

Major changes will be needed in the coming decades if this country is to survive.  Global Warming alone is going to be an epic struggle for the next generation and here we are in this late hour of 2015 still sticking our collective heads in the sand, claiming it is all a ‘big hoax’.

So instead of casting a protest vote for a man who needs no introduction or any more coverage (Donald Trump), or even a real one, consider this: who is this guy (or anyone with an “R” next to their name), who is he or she really interested in helping?

You or big business?

That is the bottom line in this next U.S. election.

Vote for your best interests, not a plutocrats’!

I’m lovin’ it! (2.0)

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the sunny, pleasantly cool, breezy, quite wonderful island of Nantucket! Great to be with you on this 7th day of September, 2015, another glorious one out on the Hyannis/Hyannis Port Waterfront(s), and I pray you and yours are still in the middle of a nice long week end.  If one were to look above and below ‘deck’ today–Monday for those who must work on ‘Labor Day’, a day set aside for those who work their fingers to the bone day in and day out in the other America just to make ends meet?–one might take notice of all the peace and serenity that is fact ’round these points of not only historical significance, but of spiritual depths as well.  For as the planet cries out in pain due to mankind’s folly–the blind, disturbingly greedy, uber wealthy plutocratic world offering no enlightenment, yet–this little sand bar created 11,500 years ago by “the Last Great Ice Age” offers a soul the opportunity to replenish what this wicked world may have taken along the way, bringing one back to nature and the waters that adorn this most sacred place.’
