Piping Plovers passing…

Filed under: Blog — Michael @ 10:04 am

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the humid, partly sunny, very warm island of Nantucket! Great to be with you on this Monday morning–the 31st day of August, 2015–looking up, one may take note of “the Piping Plover family” summering down at Dowses Beach in Osterville. Having once again successfully mated, fed, ‘entertained’, thus ‘raised’ and sent their ‘kids’ off the college, hopefully giving them the roots to grow and the wings to FLY!  Good Luck to all the those other ‘kids’ out there going back to find some KNOWLEDGE in the many varied institutions of higher learning here in the United States and beyond.  May that access, moreover absorption and application of said knowledge=power, be embraced and exercised with all of your might.  One may never know when it may be needed in this wicked world we live in today…

Of course, so many young people never get that chance to soar, to self-actualize and reach their own full potential. Not even close! Never climbing out of the man made (by design) urban jungles that haunt all of OUR lives; none so much as those living hand to mouth day in and day out, little to no Hope, Love, or Joy.  For they are the forgotten ones, the ‘people on the margins’ that are nothing more than a passing collective sigh, releasing the collective guilt most of US must feel deep down within our very core.  That is, if one’s soul is still intact. Their children living in a world reflecting “third world conditions’ (”emerging nations”=exploited nations) back at them at best; Nazi Germany genocidal camp conditions at the worst.  Being gassed day in a day out by with unregulated chemicals, toxins and deadly vapors from a robotic multinational “industry”, spewing all of that filth into the sky like it was an open sewer. We cannot pretend any longer that this is, “…One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all”.

Because it isn’t.

Life and thus politics in the United States has become a reality television show that blurs that line between what is real and what is an illusion. We ‘think’ that a billionaire playboy like Donald Trump would ‘be a man of the people’, but who can really be a man of the people when phoning it in from the top of your tower in Gotham?

The real leaders and eventual presidents of future America, if it lasts, will care nothing of ego, thus the pomp and circumstance of it all.  For it is not about the single achievement of one man (or woman), it is about how well they can function as a leader that will solve the very real problems this country and world face.  It is about the greater good, a macro resource based economy approach that must end this insane run on the planet we all call home for the moment; standing up with courage, resolve and reason for our kids’, kids’ kids!.

Who else is going to do that?

Have a great week ahead folks!

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the sunny, beautiful, breezy, bright blue skied island of Nantucket! Great to be with you once again on this Saturday morning, the 29th day of August, 2015.  Judging from the image above, and from the reality on the ground here at the Hyannis/Hyannis Port Waterfront(s), and all of the wonderful beaches that ARE the Cape and Islands, “Barbara” is no where to be found, save back at her apartment in Brooklyn.  That goes for the other 11 million people who toured through this hamlet of sand this summer season, breaking all kinds of records.  Where the hell were you?  Oh well, there is always next summer, touch wood… And please remember, we will leave that LIGHT on for ya!

Reality television has trumped reason, logic, grace, intelligence, vision and forward thinking, at least for the time being.  It seems many in the GOP these days are shaking their collective heads, e.g. baseball expert/writer/conservative columnist George Will, and wondering out loud to themselves, “…is this the end?”

For if a man like ‘the Donald’ (Trump) can pull this nomination off, who knows what this country could look like if he were actually elected?  His views are not as crazy as one might think.  Taxing hedge fund managers caught my attention, and thus, most likely doomed his chance to become that Republican nominee to vie to become this country’s 45th President.  Who really knows in this day and age of exposure therapy “It’s a guaranteed cure Bob!” We all must know by now the “United States of America” is not really run by any one man, for deep within the hallowed halls of this amazing history of said union lies a shadowy government that only a few know about; let alone are a part of.  One that calls the shots so to speak, pulls the strings in this part “Alice in Wonderland”, part “Wizard of Oz” movie script–life imitating art and art imitating life–no real agenda in mind; save to save the status quo.

“…how’s that Globalization working out for ya?”

It matters not that immigrants are flooding into Europe in record numbers, many dying in the attempt to outrun war, atrocities of all kinds, famine, global climate change, ISIL and other savagely evil entities.  The “wall” that Trump wants to build along the U.S./Mexico border, as ludicrous as that sounds (please SEA “the Berlin Wall’ sir!), is actually not that far off the mark, for it is already a reality in so many of our communities right here in the U.S.  Look at ‘the two Park Avenues’ in New York, or the 9th Ward in New Orleans, who, 10 years after Hurricane Katrina, has only one “grocery store” (please Google “Food Deserts”), struggling to serve real nutrition to the poorest of the poor in that historic city, with much of the devastation from said storm still in plain view for all the world to see.  If it were actually covered by the multinational corporate media dogs of war…

So if one wants to get ‘real’ about the problems in the country, stop listening to the nonsense emanating from the mouths of puppets whose only goal is to please it’s master, the guy, or gal, who signs the check ‘at the end of the day’… (wink, wink, nudge, nudge!)  Income inequality, “Citizens United”, the coming cataclysm of Global Warming, the rigged monetary-market system (run by “too big to fail” enormous U.S. and international banks, big oil, big pharma, giant industrialized ‘food’ producers, big chemical, big coal, big insurance and a handful of other powerful moneyed interests), are among the many pressing and very real issues starring down a dying democracy, i.e. this great nation, the one with that little letter ‘d’. A democracy so many men and women paid the ultimate sacrifice to preserve.

I wonder if any of this dark information will be addressed on tomorrow’s ‘informative?’ Sunday ‘talk’ shows?  Probably not huh?  The best is “Meet the Press” with Chuck Todd, for if one really wants to ‘get fired up’ and ‘outraged!’, you know, get ready to rumble! and ‘get into it’, he is your man!

ENJOY your Saturday folks!

Crystal Clear 2.0

Filed under: Blog — Michael @ 9:35 am

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the sunny, comfortably seasonal, breezy and darn near perfect island of Nantucket! Great to be with you on this Friday morning here at the Hyannis/Hyannis Port Waterfront(s)–the 28th day of August, 2015–another spectacular day out on the waters of this historic hamlet made famous by the Kennedy Family and of course the deep, deep history that weaves it’s way into the fabric of all of OUR lives…

After all, this region of a rather young nation was the birthplace of an experiment called “democracy”–with that little letter ‘d’–one that has been hijacked over the years by big industrialists, now global in scale, who have not only run rough shod over the world’s precious resources and her beautiful environment (needed to sustain LIFE!), a finite amount mind you, but have also turned a blind eye to what this blind greed has done to both the human race as a whole and the beautiful plants and animals that share this world with US ALL!

The ridiculous U.S. 2016 presidential election cycle goes on without thought to what is really important “at the end of the day”… Important to those who will outlive politicians and plutocrats polluting the airwaves with their nonsensical drivel fueled by said special interests in ever conflict with the good of the whole.

Good Luck with that one!

Have a great week end folks!

Sense-less Publicity

Filed under: Blog — Michael @ 10:00 am

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the sunny, pleasant, refreshingly cool, breezy island of Nantucket! Great to be with you on an absolutely beautiful Thursday morning out on the Hyannis/Hyannis Port Waterfront(s)–the 27th of August, 2015–with bright blue skies ahead, plenty of that comfortable air and infinite sparkles on the waters, bringing peace on a day that could use some…

Yesterday was yet another sad day in U.S. history, as a young reporter and her camera man were gunned down in cold blood while LIVE taping an early morning interview.  WDBJ7’s Alison Parker, a Virginia native, only 24 years old, was killed by a disgruntled ex-employee of said station.  Adam Ward, 27, was also killed by a man whose main goal was to get publicity. Tweeting and posting on FACEBOOK his horrible act for all to view for themselves, bringing this ‘reality TV’ to a whole new level of insanity, fueled by senseless gun laws, creating an insidious violence that keeps this nation in a state of perpetual fear.

May the highest Angels bring you peace!

Publicity is the name of the game it seems in this early part of the 21st century, especially when it comes to the recent and shameful Iowa campaign ‘meet and greet’ press conference with Donald, “hey, Megan, if you wanted me to ask you out you should have said so,” Trump, the GOP’s current front runner for the nomination to go up against whoever the Democrats wind up with ‘at the end of the day’…

It seems Donald’s newest victim was the poor, hard working, journalist extraordinaire–dubbed the Hispanic “Walter Cronkite” of our time–”Univision’s” one and only Jorge Ramos, who, instead of being victimized, fought and sparred with ‘the Donald’ on the issue of the politician’s plan to deport over 11 million ‘illegal’ immigrants and upend the 14th Constitutional Amendment if he became the president of this great nation. Overturning an amendment wherein it states clearly that those person’s born into this country–even if the child’s birth parents were not citizens of the United States; children born unto parents here “illegally”–are automatically considered citizens of the United States of America.  If you want a new amendment, look no further the folly of SCOTUS 5-4 decision to give corporations ‘free speech’ by way of donating as much money into the electoral process as they wish; effectively destroying democracy with that little letter ‘d’ in the process, e.g. overturning “Citizens United v FEC” jackass!

But the fun only started there…  Here are some of the words exchanged in a stunned room full of reporters– only a slight poetic license was taken by this reporter.  Please, indulge oneself in the glory of the human ego…

Trump:  “Are there any more questions?”  (Trump scanning the room for a friendly face, looking far away from the ‘menacing’ eyes of one tough cookie in the form of Univision’s Jorge Ramos. A great reporter, 30 year veteran, who was ready to let Trump have it.  The billionaire being a man he considered the most egregious of GOP haters when it came to the very human issues of ‘illegals, immigration and ’securing the border’… Deeming Trump to be in la-la land on all of the issues, stating the building a 1900 mile fence to ’secure the border’ was ludicrous and simply not realistic.  Further, deporting 11 million people–ripping families and communities apart, costing the U.S. tax payer upwards of 300 billion dollars–well, you got to say something, right?)

Ramos:  “Hey, Mr. Trump, I have some questions…”

Trump:  “You were not called, sit down and shut up.  In fact, go back to Univision, and take your kind with you…”

Ramos:  “How are you planning on paying for this ‘fence’ you want to build?”

(Donald looks over to his right, motions someone out of the cameras view as if to say, ‘get this a$$hole out here pronto or I will be looking for a new greens keeper/thug, savvy?’ And as we look upon ‘the Donald’ deeply disappointed, shaking his head back and forth, feeling real sorry for himself, his eyes closed as if muttering a sacred prayer to many of the patron saints he calls on from ‘time to time’, indeed, looking almost holy, as if he were somehow forgiving the man silently while his giant henchman comes into camera view.  A giant of a man, a hulking figure that invokes fear and loathing.  The man quickly  lumbering across the stage behind ‘his master’, over to the small stature of Jorge Ramos, innocently standing amongst his fellow reporters. Doing his job!  Indeed, standing in solidarity with his fellow citizen reporters, as he is both a Mexican and an American. That’s right, it’s called a ‘dual citizenship’!  You can Google it knucklehead!  Yes, old ‘Stretch’ physically man handled the fine reporter out of the room for all eyes to see, astonishing all other reporters covering this ‘candidate’.)

“Hey, get you hands off of me! I have another question Mr. Trump!  Hey that hurts! Did anyone ever tell you that your breath smells like death?  Get away from me you ape!  OK, I am going, just keep your hands off of me!”

(As Ramos enters the lobby of the hotel, a random “Trump supporter” walks up to the beleaguered Ramos offering this little gem, “…hey, why don’t you just go back to where you came from, we don’t like you kind round here, see?”, to wit Ramos too could only shake his head and think about taking a long vacation back to the British Virgin Islands…)

The circus we thought we were witnessing last election cycle pales in comparison with this 2016 joke.  “Reality” TV, as a ‘real thing’ on the illusion of “TV”, is now mocking that joke and the fact that ‘it’– the reality TV, i.e. ‘The Donald’ himself, is ahead in the polls, should give one pause, as it is truly an indication of just how far off the rails we have gone.  As a whole.  For this country of ours is falling into a trance of some kind, an “Alice in Wonderland” moment if you will, a moment in ‘time’ where the Mad Hatter, Donald Trump, is shaping the discussion day in and day out, with Matt and Savannah forced to take this all seriously, perhaps, in on the whole gag…

Why?  Because of the game we are all playing now.  WE, collectively, have decided not to listen to reason, coming in the form of say a straight talking, honest broker like Vermont Senator and Democratic candidate for president Bernie Sanders. Due mostly to the FACT the corporate owned multinational media manipulates the general American citizenry with clandestine halls filled with smoke and mirrors designed to pull the wool over the ‘American people’s’ eyes once again.  In our confusion we have opted for the side show of an entertainer like Donald Trump.  Whose vision for leading this country is as blind as his compassion is for his fellow human beings who share this LIFE abundant all around US is!

Have a nice day!

Global ‘reality’

Filed under: Blog — Michael @ 10:28 am

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the cloudy, extremely humid, possibly thunderous island of Nantucket! Great to be with you on this 25th day of August, 2015, coming to you LIVE on a foggy Tuesday morning here on the historic Hyannis/Hyannis Port Waterfront(s). I pray you and yours are taking in these last days of summer for yet another year; wherever that summer was summered upon…  Judging from the traffic on Pleasant Street–leading people to either the Steamship Authority or Hyline–cars, trucks, countless other vehicles, bikes and pedestrians are thinning from the height of tourist season in early July.  Giant ferries taking one back and forth to those magical islands so popular now a days with the jet set type, yes, as one takes stock of the numbers, one is left with the sad, or happy, conclusion that yet another summer season has passed US by, the inevitable conclusion being that snow is just around the corner.  So embrace those summer bike rides that keeps one warm during those cold, snowy days of January.

“Black Monday” (China), sent stocks down in the U.S. over 1000 points yesterday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropping 586 by the ‘end of the day’. Of course, this was the only ‘news’ yesterday, everyone ‘being in the same boat’ with their collective 401(k)’s and all.  The only problem with that ’scenario’ is that the big boys are ten steps ahead of that herd, thus, the only individuals being fleeced in this Global slowdown of blind consumerism will be the mom and pop investor, who will be called upon once again to bail out banks that are deemed ‘too big to fail’.

When a leader–a real leader–like Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders continues to attract giant crowds all across this nation with his simple, humble message chalk full of healthy, common sense Of, By and For the Peoplerealism, with ‘ner an acknowledgement from the corporate multinational media conglomerates (ever affirming his ‘un-electability’), one must now be able to SEA what the heck WE have been talking about all this ‘time’!  The corporate media, owned by plutocrats, does not want him to be heard!  Just like Dr. Seuss’ brave (ironically) elephant “Horton” and his “Who’s…”, the Kangaroo down under wants to silence the messenger! Indeed, in this mad rush for the nomination for the chance to become this nation’s 45th president, all logic, reason and sanity has gone out the window.

Reality has been hijacked by lunacy.  Madness has replaced reason.  Illusion has taken stage.  The Emperor has no clothes; can we SEA? There is no other way to look at this fiasco.  When you have an entertainer extraordinaire, a reality TV genius, a real estate mogul billionaire, a Donald, “you people are beautiful, we’re all going back to my place, this is ridiculous”, Trump leading this most definitely ‘not your grandfather’s GOP’ into ground like a five year old having the time of his life, it is clear that no one really has a clue what, or who is really running this circus.  Save the military industrial complex.  They’ve got no problems.

The ‘reality’ is this:  the big world banks will continue to keep the masses in economic slavery for the foreseeable future, via a rigged, corrupt monetary-market system that only rewards those at the top.  A pyramid scheme if you will.  Big oil and gas will continue to rape and pillage the earth, her people, and all of the precious animals and plants for their own bloody profit. Big pharmaceutical multinationals will keep people sick instead of curing them; no money in prevention and health, reaping giant unholy profits! Big ‘farmers’ like Monsanto will continue destroying our soil and water tables, patenting life via our seeds with the “Roundup Ready” poison now 80 percent of what Americans eat day in and day out; genetically modify that GMO! In fact, all of the rules (”laws”), of yesteryear regarding this ‘country’ have been bought and sold, scrubbed, sterilized and disinfected!  But know this: the LIGHT of the eternal sunshine of the spirit is a disinfectant that carries no ’side effects’, lo, it’s only purpose is to bring those once in the dark back into that ever shining LIGHT.  A light that shines in every living creature on this most beautiful blue planet worth saving.

personal perspective…

Filed under: Blog — Michael @ 10:00 am

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the foggy, humid, warm island of Nantucket! Great to be with you on this Monday morning–the 24th day of August, 2015–a gloomy day out on the Hyannis/Hyannis Port Waterfront(s), depending upon one’s personal perspective of course…

That personal perspective is what this 2016 U.S. presidential election spending spree is all about, brought about mostly by the U.S. Supreme Court’s 2010 5-4 decision in the “Citizens United v FEC”, opening the flood gates for special interest monies en masse. Indeed, marking the advent of that big, big money into the electoral process forever until it is repealed by a saner court with a Constitutional Amendment.  The folly of SCOTUS effectively destroys democracy with that little letter ‘d’ brave men and women fought so hard over the centuries to preserve. Corporations now with a voice as loud as that of the great creator of this little blue rock we call home for the moment.  Whoever, or whatever that is.

From the “perspective” of this grand architect (if you happen to believe in that sort of thing), this great intelligence far greater in scope than we ‘humans’ can comprehend, indeed from this perspective, one may conclude ‘it’ finds us all quite amusing, and kind of sad.  What could possibly be worth more than the love you feel for your fellow travelers along this cosmic highway?  Can’t the human race SEA they are all merely reflections of themselves?  When another human being is in need, WE are ALL in need.

This Earth of OURS is in big trouble, warming by the day due to mankind’s blind folly, his insidious greed, the endless thirst for more… All while WE allow the insanity to continue as if it were fiction.

PROFIT over people.

That is the bottom line.

“Think” Globally.  ACT locally.

Have a great week ahead everybody!

Little White Steeple 2.0

Filed under: Blog — Michael @ 8:09 am

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the misty, foggy, sultry island of Nantucket! Great to be with you on this rather soggy day on the Hyannis/Hyannis Port Waterfront(s)–Sunday, August twenty-third, 2015–and I pray this day brings you much joy and happiness, even if you are not ‘where you might want to be’ at the present moment…

The lazy, hazy days of summer are coming to a close once again, with U.S. “Labor Day” right around the corner.  And as this  nation of instant gratification consumers digests the 24/7 load of crap watched over and over again on those always informative, godless, infinite news cycles spewing forth the sad empty space chalk filled with Madison Avenue wizard Ads selling poison, one must sit in awe, listening to presidential hopeful Donald, “I’ll get back to you on that one toots”, Trump speak in Alabama on Friday night to a ‘roaring crowd’ of possibly 30,000 people (not even close to the crowds Independent U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont is getting day in and day out; not covered nearly enough by mainstream corporate media), bused in from who knows where.

This just in from Reuters: a lost transcript from “the Donald’s” inspirational speech recently in Mobile, Alabama, Friday, August 21, 2015.

“The reality is folks, we started out at the Holiday Inn, what, me with my pink carnation and top hat, I owned the place, but the hotel called and said, ‘hey Donald, we are getting phone calls from all over, your hot!  We just can’t take all the people you know?  You got to find another venue for this gig.  I was shocked, quite frankly, at how much everybody loves me, this is great!  Anyhow, I know you are all just happy to be out of your trailer park for the evening, so I will make this brief.  I am the best.  ‘Dose odder guys, hey, if they are so good, then why am I leading in all of ‘da polls?  I ask you this in all sincerity.  The American people want the best and I am just ‘dat.  They also want their country back from all ‘dose special interests’, from the powerful wealthy ‘land owners’ like myself.  And the banks and da lobbyists.  Can I tell you a funny story?  Da odder day, this guys walks into my office, he was a lobbyist, know, pro jock, anyway, I tell him, ‘whoa fella, I don’t want any of your money, ’cause dats not what I am all about see.  But it was a lot of dough, and everybody else is doing it, I don’t know, I think I will leave that critical decision up to you folks, the hill billies I cannot believe I am sucking up to, was that out loud?  OK, I may, or may not take the money, is that what I am hearing from yous?  I will take that as a maybe and that means it is up to me.  That’s why you love me right?  I am right and you are wrong.  I believe that most of what comes out of my mouth was never meant to be touched by the grace that comes with reason or rhyme.  That is why my campaign or my policy platform, ‘da planks if you will, none of ‘dat is based on logic whatsoever.  Furthermore, I have no intention of addressing ‘my ego’ or my lack of humanity when referring to a child of God in this whole immigration fiasco, hey ooo!  This big fuss thrown up with me saying “anchor babies” the odder day, remember?  I was referring to those low down dirty immigrants to wit I am sure you all here in the South will concur must go if we are to save this beautiful country of the free and da, da, da brave… I am I right or am I right?  I am telling you folks, this stuff just comes natural to me, I am always amazing myself!  You’re  looking at a winner tonight by golly and by coming here tonight, by association, ‘dat make you a winner too.  At least until you go back to your Mac and Cheese dinner, washing it down with a Pabst Blue Ribbon while viewing one of my fine reruns of “The Apprentice”.  Why are you scratching your head, ma’am, what are you confused about, the word association?  It’s a ten dollar word for most of you I know, I empathize with your horrible plight, especially those of you living down wind from all the chemical plants, the fracking fluid waste water ponds, and the constant spewing of all that Methane coming from all the natural gas well heads you got going on down here.  What you don’t know is ‘dat stuff is no good for you or the environment.   But hey, f ‘dat just like ‘dose damn immigrants!  For yous’ people, what you don’t know won’t hurt you none.  You may think I think you’re an idiot, but you don’t know that as far as you know, you know?  I could go on and on all night folks, but I got a poker game at midnight back in Manhattan so I gotta be going.  Meanwhile, just remember, it is ME, Donald Trump, who is going to “make America great again”, or at least that is what it says on my hat.  Whether or not that is even possible is anybody’s guess.  Keep ‘dat in mind when you go back to Burger King, flipping  burgers for $7.25 an hour.  GMO filled non-food products you can’t afford to consume yourself.   Jesus.  OK, peace out!”

Have a ‘Holier than Thou’ Sunday folks!

A loyalty to history

Filed under: Blog — Michael @ 9:50 am

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the sunny, humid, awesome island of Nantucket! Great to be with you and yours on this Friday, a warm 21st day of August.  Coming to you LIVE from the Hyannis/Hyannis Port Waterfront(s) on yet another super summer day; for it still summer, lest we forget, not Halloween quite yet, and thus we might take that fact and put it to use so as to pull out on some blizzard in the near future…

Carpe Diem!

“…seize the day”

The ongoing and intensifying media onslaught of this 24/7 2016 presidential race is by design. If one were to ponder what the media looked like back in 1976 when Jimmy Carter (God Speed Sir!), became the 39th U.S. President (movies reflecting life and vice versa, the innocent data video games contained, or what anchor Walter Cronkite of ‘the CBS Evening News’ reported as ‘the most trusted man in America’, or the simple shows on ‘the TV’), one might come to the conclusion that a few really rich crazy people are steering the herd with lots of loud noisy nonsense (plus all the shiny objects!). Drivel that holds no substance, yet plenty of sexy sass.  In this day and age of conspicuous consumption, one must comprehend the concept of economic slavery. “We”, the plutocrats, need the consumer to continue consuming. For ‘it’, blind consumption, is indeed the ‘fuel’ that runs our economy and hence our pocket books, not yours or your families, and please refrain from peering in to catch of glimpse of the “men behind the curtain”…

Of course, if ‘they’ continue destroying earth for their own personal profit (over people and planet), there won’t be “an economy” to talk about on CNBC.  A mass delusional behavior that only rewards those in the .001 class, living it up in this grand illusion of a rigged monetary-market system; a system systematically destroying the only environment this species (humans and all of our furry and wet friends!) has ever known…

Is this logical or insane?

“You be the judge Greg!” (credit “Otter” from the classic 1978 film, “Animal House“; starring the late, great John Belushi, and written by the late, very funny writer/director Harold Ramis).  ‘The point of parliamentary procedure sir’ is this: please, for the love of ‘god’ look through the bull$hit and follow the money! If it looks and smells like dark loot, it most likely is, and thus, probably up to no good!  Special interests, secret societies, the military industrial complex, greedy, polluting, tax cheating multinational corporations combined with an out of control ‘free-market’ system, called “Globalization, all run by big banks and big oil, offers the country it does business in “no added value of any kind” and should be called out as such on this most important election of this young nation’s history.

For if these scary issues are not resolved, this democracy with a little letter ‘d’ will not stand, man. Too many people have paid the ultimate price for this democracy. One that was divinely inspired, and bravely defended for well over two centuries. Therefore, WE–as a nation of smart, good, hard working people–will rise up and demand a FAIR SHAKE!

Consider Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, an independent, honest man with nothing up his sleeve!

Have a great week end everybody!

A Peaceful Pond…

Filed under: Blog — Michael @ 6:58 am

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the once again sunny, warm, humid, breezy island of Nantucket! Great to be with you on this 19th day of August, 2015, a Wednesday, “High Noon”, as it is, and we here at Sea Cape Cod could not be happier you decided to spend a few moments of your day with US on a little sand bar created 11,500 years ago by ‘the Last Great Ice Age’, an age that we humans will most likely not be experiencing in our collective lifetimes…

In fact, it is only getting hotter as evidenced by the extreme temperatures outside of your window, especially for the folks out west, who are deep into a tough, tough fire season with near 100 out of control wildfires in six states, costing upwards of 130 million dollars a month, with those states quickly running out of funds to pay for fighting these biblical blazes. Funds to pay firefighters who–as in that poor lakeside, mountain town of Chelan, Washington, with over 30 homes burned to the ground, the whole town gone–are quickly realizing that they are losing the battle.  The U.S. National Guard has been called up to assist the beleaguered men and women putting in 16 hour days, but even that is of little help.  How does one defend against an ominous threat in such a vast geographical area? Everything, everything, everything dry as a bone!  Hills, forests and meadows all a virtual tinder box that once lit, and fueled by wicked Santa Anna winds, turns once beautiful green rolling hillsides into the surface of the moon,

‘The Dark Side of the Moon’ (credit Rock Band Pink Floyd) as it is…

But this does not bother the general public in the good ‘ole US of A!  Most now glued to their collective TV or 5×7 ’smart phone’ (a brainwashing, ever distracting, NSA tracking device; probably cancer causing/exorbitantly expensive electronic collar), devices ever broadcasting the newest form of ‘reality TV’, this crazy, zany, madcap, kooky most definitely insane 2016 U.S. Presidential GOP nomination process, unfolding right in front of our eyes, for the next 15 months or so, isn’t that special? (Jeb Bush looking more presidential everyday. If only he and members of the Bilderberg Group were interested in the welfare of ALL people, not just those who vacation in Kennebunkport, Maine! And if you really want to be an ‘Elite’, make a real mark in history by forgoing the “Chatham House Rules” of 1927 and become known, moreover, make your will known, so as to actually assist in saving the human species from it’s own demise, simultaneously saving the Wilderness!  For we are all symbiotically connected and dependent upon each other; all of the beautiful animals, plants, indeed, the planet as a whole!). An electronically served grand illusion masking the real policy changes needed to save not only the country, but the EARTH, a planet that has been abused by greedy plutocrats for far too long!  The best to date created by shrewd New York real estate tycoon, and businessman extraordinaire, Donald, “I think that was an unfair question toots!”, Trump, who is taking this land by air, by sea and by gosh by golly!   Just ask Chuck Todd–host and moderator of NBC’s “Meet the Press”–he’ll tell ya!

“Immigrants?  Fuck ‘em.  You see Chuck, I am going to ask Mexico to go ahead and build ‘the dang fence’, then I am going to deport over 11 million “illegals” (costing upwards of 300 billion dollars!), ripping families and communities apart.  That is just for starters.  Hey, do you like the new leather on the Trumpcopter?  It’s called “Virgin Ivory”, although I don’t think it should be wearing white if you know what I mean, oh, I should not be saying that on national television should I?  That’s what editing is for!  Am I right or am I right Chuck, can I call you Chuck?  You’re doin’ a hell of a job on ‘dat “Meet the Press” gig you got going on at ‘da Rock.  I am proud of you, I never trusted ‘dat David Gregory, too smart, but hey, you are smart too, it’s not a contest.  Did you try the Dungeness crab?  It is to die for!  Chuck, check out the new looks with the fine leather on the new Gulfstream 4!  Isn’t ‘dat nice?  This is one of the little jet planes I bought my nephew recently, he’s got a band, what are you gonna do?  He’s a good kid, what are you gonna do, are we still rolling?  Oh, well, that is all I have to say.  If we don’t get rid of some of these people, we are not going to have a country any more.”

The question is, what people do we get rid of?

The lobbyists?  The oil cartels?  The bank cartels?  The secret shadow government?  The “New World Order”?

No, the politicians of today are not strong enough to even consider what we really need to do if we are going to, and I quote Mr. Trump here, “save the country”.  Save the World rather.  The epic challenge ahead (Global Warming), of the planet’s more than 7 billion living, breathing people will be met head on by this younger generation of Millennials. They will SEA the error in our collective policy decisions that have now put the earth on a collision course with it’s own extinction, an extinction due to both the folly of man and the never ending lust for more.

Have a nice day.

“You scratched my anchor!”

Filed under: Blog — Michael @ 11:36 am

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the sunny, quite humid and very warm island of Nantucket! Great to be with you on a muggy Monday morning here at the Hyannis/Hyannis Port Waterfront(s)–the 17th day of August, 2015–expecting to hit near 90 degrees today, with much of the country baking in a virtual oven of our own making…

“…It’s easy to grin, when your ship comes in and you’ve got the stock market beat.  But the man worthwhile, is the man who can smile, when his his shorts are too tight in the seat.”

(A timid, nervous laughter and a smattering of claps emanating from the small, uptight crowd gathered at Bushwood Country Club’s private yacht club.  “Judge Smails” (played by the late, great Ted Knight), leading the way with that zany, crazy laughter, eventually instructing his wife to “…Christin the sleuth”, to wit “Pookie” got on stage addressing the ‘crowd’, “…I Christen this vessel “The Flying Wasp”, bless her and all who sail on her…”, upon which she struck said vessel with a bottle, immediately breaking off part of the bow to the great sadness and chagrin of the proud owner of the little wooden boat…, screaming at his lazy, useless grandson named after a tennis ball–“Spalding“–“…well don’t just stand there, go and get some glue!” Suddenly, out of nowhere, comes a loud horn.  Looking up, the judge notices a large white yacht approaching his precious new treasure at a high rate of speed.  Frantically trying to wave it off, he suddenly realizes the owner of the vessel is none other than that undesirable land developer who is trying to ‘become a member of Bushwood Country Club’.  The man ‘piloting’ the vessel follows orders, stating loudly and clearly, “…OK, drop anchor!”, releasing a large piece of heavy steel from his bow directly into the hull of the small boat far below it, creating a large hole in the center of the tiny ‘yacht’, effectively destroying it’s nautical future).

“You scratched my anchor!”, bellows Rodney Dangerfield (”Al Czervik” a wealthy land developer) to Ted Knight (Judge Smails) from aboard his stately Bircham cabin cruiser, a 90 foot yacht.  This all taking place in the classic 1980 film “Caddyshack”; to wit the only response from founder of Bushwood Country Club was the heavy sobbing and endless tears. His “Flying Wasp” now doomed, sinking fast due to that very large hole put in it by the Bircham’s massive anchor.

This was supposed to be a happy day for the judge, just finishing up his big speech at the yacht club with all of his friends and “loving family members”, such as that obnoxious, no good, spoiled grandson “Spalding”. Indeed, only moments before he was speaking with one of the ‘little people’, an employee, a golf caddy named Danny, who was very interested in becoming part of this grand society.  But first he needed a way to get into college.  His main goal was to suck up to the judge who was going to be giving away a scholarship to the winner of the annual “caddy tournament” held at the distinctive, exclusive, upper crust country club that Rodney would never be ‘welcomed at’.

A little later that day, Rodney was strolling around the billiard area of the club, when he ran back into his old friend.  A heated argument ensued, to wit Smails states, “…I can guarantee you’ll never be a member here at Bushwood!” Rodney’s character quipping back, “…member?  I was thinking about buying this dump!”

That being the final straw, the judge mentally snapping.  Literally grabbing Rodney by the throat screaming, “…you, you, you!” Rodney just flaying about with that big, goofy, lovable look on his face.  After the fight is broken up, Judge Smails looks wildly around the room, shouting out to anyone who would hear his voice, such as his friend, “Dr. Beeper”, insanely pleading, “…you saw it!  He was trying to choke me!” Rodney standing up for himself, stating calmly, “…he called me a Orangutan, he thinks I’m his wife”.

Welcome to the 2016 U.S. Presidential reality show TV bonanza; blasting into your living room 24/7 for the next 15 or so months!  Enjoy!

Have a nice week ahead folks!

Power Brokers

Filed under: Blog — Michael @ 2:52 pm

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the once again sunny, gorgeous, breezy island of Nantucket! Great to be with you on a beautiful Friday afternoon on Cape Cod–the fourteenth day of August, 2015–a perfect week for any of the 11 million visitors to the area, this #1 tourist destination on this east coast of the United States of America.  And by the looks of traffic coming on and off of the ferries going over to said islands, it looks like the word is out.  We will, as always, leave that LIGHT on for ya!

As MSNBC’s Ari Melber pointed out on Rachel Maddow’s TRMS sometime this week, it looks as if both Republican Donald Trump and Independent Democrat Bernie Sanders have most assuredly taken “The Road(s) Less Traveled“.  Donald, one could assume, probably not a big fan of author Scott Peck, the man who wrote that great novel.  But, this reporter has been wrong in the past on many, many, many occasions. Just ask any of my ex-girlfriends, ‘they’ll tell ya’!

That’s right, both dark horses coming out of nowhere, now front and center stage, leading the pack in every national and local poll in this mad race for their respective party’s nomination to become the nation’s 45th President of the United States of America. It would be fair to say most if not all of the country now ready to get real, although most do not have a choice about it, airwaves beginning to flood with the billions that will be spent in 2016 campaign Ads.  Thanks mostly to the folly of the U.S. Supreme Court’s 5-4 decision in  “Citizens United v. FEC”, a victory for the never satisfied corporate zombies, who want complete control of this so called democracy… Opening up the flood gates for said very, very special interests to spend freely at will, spending as much as they like, without disclosure of any kind, explaining it all to US, as to who they are and what their motives may be…

Vast, unimaginable amounts of monies carefully designed to steer the electorate this way or that… Indeed, this is all about another critical American election determining who will lead this nation into the ‘adulthood’ of the 21st century.  Still 15, teenagers can be rebellious, with the ever defiant “I’m not going to listen to reason” bravado that eventually dies down by dinner time.  So we have a long, long way to go.  Collectively we have been turning a blind eye to the reality of GLOBAL WARMING (and all of the ramifications therein…), turning a blind eye to the unsustainable (for a civil, democratic society), GRAND CANYON gap between the haves (e.g., 400 or so American individuals owning more than half the nation combined!), and the have nots. We also have turned a big, blind eye to the incessant/tragic rape and pillage of OUR environment for purely profit motives, regardless of the consequences to all of the innocent human, plant and animal life that is so dear and precious to US ALL!  Denying this critically needed health care to the only home we presently have–i.e. Earth–hello?  Rather, the big multinationals are only accelerating it’s demise with it’s blind thirst for more. Finally, we have also been turning a blind eye to the reality of racial wounds that need healing, noting quite clearly that all lives matter, black, white, male, female, gay, straight.  We are not in need of more militarized zones; parts of the U.S. looking more like the ‘DMZ’ everyday. Yes, as we turn away from that blindness and look into the LIGHT, we may just have a shot for future generations.

For make no mistake about it, the challenges this country (and indeed the world), this multinational “globalized” corporate owned media won’t tell you about–via a mega dose of unpalatable, homogenized (for your protection!) hooey coming ‘atcha 24/7–is remarkable.

FOX “news”; we “report”, you decide?”

Begging the question, what better ‘time’ than NOW to sound the horn?  Getting active by jumping on board the truth train with a man like Independent U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders hailing from the great state of Vermont?

His ideas are sound and his agenda has not one special interest, save you, the American voter.

Think about it.

Have a great week end everybody!

“We have no bananas”

Filed under: Blog — Michael @ 5:27 pm

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the sunny, pleasant, perfect island of Nantucket! Great to be with you on this absolutely stunning day out on the Hyannis/Hyannis Port Waterfront(s)–the 13th day of August, 2015–and a good Thursday evening to you and yours, taking in all that this little sand bar created 11,500 years ago by the Last Great Ice Age has to offer today. Un-plugging from all of the nonsense for just a moment, don’t worry, I will get back to the insanity soon!  Zaniness such as the behavior of constantly giving one’s undivided attention to a 3X5 inch electronic leash ironically coined a ’smart phone.  This reporter observes most people walking around with the device as if it contained some kind of secret code they must crack before crossing a busy street.  As their collective necks bend, turn and twist to catch every Madison Avenue wizard produced Ad; struggling and squinting in blazing sunlight to see or talk to God knows who on such a beautiful day. Staring into an abyss as opposed to experiencing all of this amazing real life all around them at this present moment in ‘time’.  A moment that will never come again and one we all get to share together in this deeply historic, mystic venue. ‘Old world shadows hanging heavy in the air’ indeed. One perhaps missing a Cardinal here or a harbor seal there…

Yes, it seems this nation is joined at the hip with Verizon, Comcast or Turner, or Dish, all being one in the same.  Especially when it comes to getting the truth out regarding the criminal behavior some of our fine upstanding multinational corporations have executed over the decades, lo, centuries.  For so many Americans it seems we are all held hostage to these “Gods”, these ‘titans of industry’, the good folks who bring you the NFL and all, how bad could they be?  Know it or not, many are held hostage to these organizations and they are not even aware that they are in some kind of a weird “Stockholm Syndrome” that rarely defines itself in so many of those uncertain terms and conditions. Conditions that may, or may not, apply to you and your family personally.  If you have any questions of this complexity by design, please contact Roger Ailes of FOX “news”, I am sure that he will be happy to point out all of the detail.  Why not just ring up the scallywag himself from down under? The owner of this world wide propaganda machine, Rupert, “arrrghhh matey!”, Murdoch of “News Corporation”.  I am sure he would be happy to answer any and all inquiries.

Rarely can one turn on a TV and receive a real, objective, fact based, solution driven, every rock under-covered, 70’s “60 Minutes” style, Walter Cronkite ‘CBS Evening News’ presentation.  No sir!  As this would not fit with the new global corporate “mission statement” (owner of said “news” station); one ever of profit over people. Maintenance, vigilance and security of this newly minted status quo is of paramount importance.

Austerity and Ayn Rand’s “The Fountainhead” is our new God!  That and a lust for more”.

A greedy ‘Globalization’ of highly secretive special interests of the very, very few, a complete take over of our civil liberties and the creation of a “New World Order” that leaves democracy with that little letter ‘d’ at the dumpster, with a bullet in the head is the ‘wave of the future’, or so it seems...  The giant multinationals own the media and hence the message, propaganda rather, and thus the truth contained in stories about workers abuse along with many devastating human rights violations that never get to see the light of day in the United States.  Take Dole Fruit Company for example, the world’s largest manufacturer/distributor of fruits and vegetables.   A few years back, there was a big law suit against a Swedish independent film maker/documentary Fredrik Gertten. His controversial film, “Bananas”, nothing to do with funny man Woody Allen I assure you, stirred up a real hornets nest ~2009-2010.  Dole Fruit, it seems, was all up in arms about this documentary film that told the story (the raw, unadulterated truth) of a Nicaraguan horror show when it came to pesticides and what those poisons were doing to the workers harvesting the most lucrative product in the supermarket today, the banana.  The men working the fields were becoming sterile as a result of the pesticides being utilized, with many others were getting sick as well.  Just another example of how that modus operandi and mental illness PROFIT over people continues to manifest itself in the ‘real world’.

The price of the stock and the shareholders best interests, along with those hefty CEO bonuses, is all that  really counts now ‘a days. The ‘fake news’ being read to you by ‘fake journalists’ if you will (not all!), who work the anchor desks at FOX, CBS, CNN, take your pick, are tied to those collective desks by fear and money (”it’s easier to live with a bad conscience then a bad reputation”). Mostly scripted to say and think along a corporate line, and because it is all just one big happy family, a deluded, dangerous and deadly family, well then, who really cares if some Nicaraguan pheasants were hurt?  If Dole pulls those Ads, we don’t get that bonus, you know what I mean?  Bob?

So, it takes the raw guts of journalists, independent film makers like Fredrik Gertten to call these guys out on their horse$hit screaming at the top of their lungs–“this is just not right!” The country of Sweden was behind him all the way, a real David and Goliath story in this day and age of yes men and sniveling money grubbers. Members of Parliament in Sweden were in on the act, with both a conservative and a liberal siding with Gertten. Dole eventually dropping the law suit against the showing of the film in Sweden as well as the U.S., as well as against Mr. Gertten personally.  The documentary about the documentary is also well worth the view–”Big Boys Gone Bananas”–for it exposes the truth to what the devil is going on with the ‘fine print’ these days, is it in that secret storage facility in Utah?  That devil is in there somewhere by gosh, by golly!

Have a pleasant evening…

Brewster; est., 1803

Filed under: Blog — Michael @ 12:26 pm

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the cool, raw foggy, rainy island of Nantucket! Great to be with you on this wet and wild Tuesday morning here at the Hyannis/Hyannis Port Waterfront(s)–the 11th day of August, 2015–and this reporter sincerely hopes you and yours are having a good one out there in this brave new world of OURS!

Taking a break from all the ‘fun facts‘ regarding our turbulent world, it is once again time for another installment of “Better Know Your Cape Town or Island”–not to be confused with Stephen Colbert’s old bit on that wonderful “Colbert Report”, “Better Know Your District” (good luck with the new show!), a series of ’serious’ interviews with mostly members of the U.S. Congress, indeed making most look like the puppets they truly ARE. No, this is simply an attempt to send a ‘message in a bottle’ as it were regarding the history of a little sand bar created 11,500 years ago by the Last Great Ice Age. Truly the birthplace of this little experiment called democracy with that little letter ‘d’ so many people over the centuries have sacrificed so much for, many dying in the process, dying in order to preserve.  This mere mentioning are for those visionaries, those heroes, those soldiers, those brave souls who forged this great nation of ours we take for granted today.  A country that has lost it’s way and that seems as if it is on the precipice of being completely taken over by the Robber Barons of our ‘time’…

Today’s 8th installment of this 25 part series is the town of Brewster, first settled in 1656, and way, way, way back then, was considered the northern, more wealthy parish of the town of Harwich. It eventually was incorporated into a town by 1803.  Named in honor of Elder William Brewster (first religious leader of the Pilgrims of Plymouth County), the towns’ history grew with the advent of the first grist and woolen mill founded in the late 17th century.  A big tourist attraction today as it is still in operation.  The town was inhabited by many rich sea captains, hence all of the stately homes and mansions scattered about the fairly large land mass that is Brewster, with Cape Cod Bay to the north, the town of Dennis to the west, Orleans to the east and Harwich to the south.  Most of these homes have been converted into bed and breakfasts and inns flocked to every summer by tens of thousands of tourists from all over the world.  Notable are the Crosby Mansion and the Captain Freeman Inn on Breakwater Road.

The town has several beaches that bring one out onto the vast tidal sand flats–perfect for cooling off on a hot day as the bay stays much cooler than Nantucket Sound to the south–but also offers Cape Cod’s largest fresh water pond, Long Pond, as well as plenty of wood, with Roland C. Nickerson State Forest Park right up the road, by far the largest state forest on Cape Cod.  One can also take in a ball game with the “Brewster Whitecaps” playing for free all summer long, another team in the Cape Cod Baseball League that has been home to many Major League ball players over the years, such as Tony Gwynn, a great hitter from the San Diego Padres, a Hall of Fame player who liked the Cape League so much his son Tony Gwynn Jr. also joined the ranks, along with so many other talented athletes.  Indeed, there is nothing quite like taking in a game on a beautiful summer evening with friends and family…

Have a great day folks and thanks for tuning into Sea Cape Cod!

Campaign of Chaos

Filed under: Blog — Michael @ 11:26 am

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the sunny, seasonally perfect island of Nantucket! Great to be with you on this picture postcard Monday morning–the 10th day of August, 2015–on Cape Cod and the aforementioned islands!  WE, here at little old Sea Cape Cod, hope the President of the United States, Barack Obama (and his beautiful family!), is having a good time on an island (MV) that was discovered way back in 1602 by Captain Gosnold, who later named the isle after this daughter, Martha… Enjoy the Magic!  The days when the ‘reality’ TV shows were right outside of your front door. Men, women and children braving this brave new world with only the clothes on their backs, along with an intrepid soul that lit the way, shaping and forging country that we are ALL blessed to be living in today…

Of course, don’t tell that to FOX “news”, Donald Trump or Megan Kelly, no sir!  There’s a fight a brewin’ and there is just no ‘time’ for all these fairy tales of US living in harmony and peace, in love and understanding, in reason and in logic… “No more hippy talk God dammit!”  “We need more fighter jets in Turkey to fight ISIL!  “We demand less regulation on the “job creators” (shipping said jobs overseas at record pace), and more subsidies for the ‘poor’ “Farmers” in this nation!”, i.e. the plutocrats pulling the strings in Washington D.C..

While all of this horse$hit hot air is being spewed on the old ‘campaign trail’ 24/7 via said corporate owned propaganda machine, the industry charged with protecting the Environment (the EPA), recently caused millions of gallons of waste water to leak into a gorgeous stretch of river in the great state of Colorado, turning it a bright, neon, undesirable color that sickens one even more than the poor animals and people that must come in physical contact.  The chess pieces are on the move, with billionaire Donald Trump still leading this ‘not your grandfather’s GOP‘.  Indeed, leading this misguided and rather sad ’super pack’ of billionaire boot lickers, with some of the lower tier candidates ‘moving on up’ to the Upper East Side, hoping to God the “American People” don’t ever comprehend what this party is really all about.

Make no mistake about it.  The “New World Order” is calling the shots now, at least presently.  But when it is clear to ALL the world’s citizens on just how corrupt the entire system is, there may just be a shift in consciousness and a change of heart by the mass majority of PEOPLE on this planet who have just as much a right to live as you or I.  A New World Order so to speak, secretly and tightly ruled by societies unknown to society at large; controlling and profiting via the U.S. military industrial complex, the oil and gas industry, big pharmaceutical companies, giant ‘food’ producing giants such as Monsanto–who have patented LIFE via a poisonous genetically modified soy, corn and many other seed, the tried and true horror of “Roundup Ready“! Consequence being the FACT that 80 percent of products in U.S. grocery stores contain some kind of GMO! Unlabeled and untested as to it’s real safety for human consumption–or many global conglomerates. When all of this nonsense becomes CLEAR, when the veil is finally pulled back and it is revealed that over the course of the last half century or so that hard fought for American democracy has been hijacked by a twisted corporate milieu, indeed revealed that most U.S. policy just a bloody house of cards lobbied on behalf of the .001 (completely unsustainable in the long run for future generations), a rigged monetary-market system that only rewards those at the top (those displaying the most ruthless and anti-social behavior, greedy to the extreme, really a form of mental illness), yes, when all of this becomes crystal clear, only then will real change begin to happen.

Of the people, by the people, and FOR the people…”

But until then, keep the popcorn handy, reality TV has nothing on the real life soap opera of the GOP and the Democratic campaigns of chaos (save Vermont’s U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders campaign to become the 45th U.S. President!), designed that way to keep one’s eye off of the ball. Off of the real issues of our time.  It will not be long before we are talking about dramatic rises in sea levels, even stronger storms, hotter wildfires, deeper droughts and dying oceans; all due to mankind’s ultimate folly of putting carbon and other greenhouse gasses into our atmosphere as if it were an open sewer.  Man made madness now quickly destroying our most precious resource, this beautiful blue planet and all of the birds, bears, bamboo and bush therein…

Have a wonderful week ahead folks and take heart, the best is yet to come!

“Fool me once…”

Filed under: Blog — Michael @ 10:20 am

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the once again stunningly beautiful, sunny, pleasantly perfect island of Nantucket! Great to be with you and yours once again on this 7th day of August, 2015, another awesome Cape day if you happen out this way, with temperatures in the low to mid seventies, blue sky and water temperatures to match.  A good day to greet our fine and upstanding 44th President of the United States, staying in the Vineyard for the next 17 days, a much deserved vacation.  This reporter hopes the whole “FAM” (credit a classic must re-SEA film starring Bill Murray, Julie Hagerty and Richard Dreyfuss, “What About Bob”, circa 1991), enjoys the stay, getting in as much quality Wildlife ‘time’ as possible. Hopefully unplugging and renewing, if only for a few moments, taking the prescription “Dr. M” handed out to “Bob” in said movie, ‘giving him permission” to take a break from all of his anxiety and worry. Writing said ’script to Bob stating, ‘take a vacation from your problems’. To wit Bob exclaimed in great delight, “…take a vacation from my problems?  You bet I will!” Taking in all of the Magic that is this little sand bar created 11,500 years ago by the Last Great Ice Age. An Age reminiscent of the image above; captured from this past winter’s Abundance…

On this busy Friday morning, we all say goodbye to Jon Stewart of “The Daily Show”, who brought this nation of OURS much laughter, a few tears and a whole boat load of HOPE, LOVE and JOY.  Thank you Jon!  Having cancelled my subscription to cable, I was unable to view last night’s last episode, but I am sure it was bittersweet for a man who, since 1999, has transformed how much of this country’s citizenry consumes it’s daily news.  Moreover, what they think about it.  He became the new Walter Cronkite of our day, bringing sense and sensibility, reason and sanity, some logic and luck, some wisdom and humility, some wit and witness, but above all, he brought down the house with laughter.

Possessing not only the unique ability to poke fun at powerful men like our previous U.S. President George W. Bush–who once famously stated at a press conference, as he built up his defenseless defense of proceeding with an illegal war waged against a sovereign nation posing no real threat to OUR ‘national security’ (the big joke), killing over 4400 U.S. soldiers and far more than 100,000 Iraqis–both civilian and military– not to mention the thousands of American soldiers who suffer 24/7 from acute PTSD and subsequent substance abuse, resulting in many vets being homeless without hope, dowsed in desperation, through no fault of their own, ultimately looked down upon as liabilities, as opposed to the ASSETS they truly are, add to all of that “collateral damage”, American tax payers still left with the cost of ‘the Iraq War’, with credible estimates ranging upwards of 4.1 trillion when combined with the ‘Afghanistan War’, indeed Jon making fun of old “W” time and time again with his one man show and spot on impression of the man who famously stated at said press conference, “…ah, um, fool me once, shame on you? Uh, um, fool me twice, ah, um, er, well, you just can’t get fooled again see…”–yes, possessing not only the sharp, dry wit to put anyone in their place, Jon also possessed the rare trait of being able to laugh at himself.

Ever abiding in the age old truism–”...Blessed are those who can laugh at themselves, for they will be constantly amused.”

Of course, Jon’s work gave us Stephen Colbert, John Oliver and many others, who have gone on to have distinguished careers of their own.  Rumor has it that this New Jersey native will be spending more time with his family and creating a safe haven for abused animals.  God Bless you Mr. Stewart!

Whatever his future endeavors, be it another fine “Rosewater” film, or a great novel, I am sure it will be Gold.

God speed my man, God speed!

Have a nice week end folks!

The Missing Link

Filed under: Blog — Michael @ 8:55 am

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the once again sunny, hazy, hot and humid (not so thundery island) of Nantucket! Great to be with you once again on a hot Wednesday morning here at the Hyannis/Hyannis Port Waterfront(s)–this Fifth day of August, 2015–not much of a cool down after quite the light show yesterday, as strong storms swept through the area, with wind, lightening, thunder and heavy, heavy rains, a sign of things to come…

U.S. President Barack Obama made another move of cementing his fine legacy, announcing this week a bold new Executive ‘rule’ that will force power plants across the nation to curb it’s carbon emission by 32% by the year 2030.  Dovetailing with the overall Environmental strategy the world seeks by way of countries like China (and India?), who must get on board with this quest before it is too late.  The president spoke candidly, from the heart, in a White House press conference when he announced this initiative, bringing to LIGHT the simple fact that he, like so many other Dad’s out there, want their children to be able to swim in the oceans, to see fish, to enjoy blue sky and to actually touch a glacier.

The missing link, or major malfunction of the Bilderberg Group and their brethern–you know, this secret, shadowy, “New World Orderbringing you the first of many, many fine FOX/GOP ‘debates’ (about what?), on Thursday night; ironically filled with all that hot, carbon laced air that is melting the great ice sheets all around this blessed planet they deny even exists…–yes, the missing link in all of this insanity of “debating” is just that, SANITY.

We, as as species, are still mostly hunter/gathers, using very little of our God given Grace; a Universal Intelligence that goes way, way beyond this insane and insatiable human greed, a greed being carried out by a tiny minority of the people on this planet, people who are allowing it to happen right in front of their and their children’s eyes.  Via this track record as human beings, especially with all of the carnage expressed in the 20th and early part of the 21st centuries, one must come to the conclusion we have evolved very little.

Sure, we have lots of new toys the space people brought US, but in this process of PROGRESS, we have clearly spiraled out of control.  If a five year old can clearly SEA we are in big trouble when it comes to our only home presently–planet EARTH–a home for ALL of us.  Not just humans!  Observing the allowing of a few greedy men to destroy it, indeed, watching it unfold and paying a subscription for the “privilege” of it unfold on ye ole’ TV machine (credit: Rachel Maddow of TRMS), pretty much sums up the problem.  People held captive in a ’smart’ (phone) 3X5 prison cell, unable to break away long enough to SEA what is really transpiring right NOW!

Yes, if said five year old can see this is all quite unsustainable–the oil and gas gig, the monetary-market system, a monopoly of the banking cartel world wide now, the ‘natural gas’ boom…–well then, one must ask the question, ‘what is the end game here?’.  Really, what is it genius?  We continue this behavior for the next 50 years, there will not be “an economy” stupid!  The planet is getting hotter by the hour as we continue to spew and spew and spew the very element we can least afford to spew any longer. Carbon Dioxide coupled with the ‘natural, clean gas’ of Methane FRACKED from the earth via 596 deadly chemicals unknown to the EPA and public at large.

Yet, tomorrow night, in Cleveland, Ohio, these knuckle dragging buffoons will go on “the TV“–with the ten “top tier” candidates debating the ‘issues’, making the case only they are best suited to become the 45th President of the United States of America, then the seven that did not make the cut, so it’s a double header!–and actually tell 320 some odd American citizens that GLOBAL WARMING is a hoax.  Made up by ‘the liberal media’ to keep good jobs away from them “hard working American people”, or some such horse$hit…

The central message in this 2016 U.S. presidential plutocratic horse race has all been homogenized, scrubbed, sanitized and sterilized ‘for your protection’– “…nothing to SEA here folks!  Please, pay no attention to that man, men, behind  the curtain.  We have your best interests in mind, also don’t worry about the fact we are slowly destroying your AIR, your WATER and your LAND for our bloody profit,”

Have a nice day folks and stay cool!

“Where Eagles Dare” 2.0

Filed under: Blog — Michael @ 10:54 am

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the summery, humid, quite warm and sunny island of Nantucket! Great to be with you on this third day of August in this year of 2015, and a good, jolly AHOY to you and yours! Where are you?  Did you get that memo to come on down and enjoy some chowda or take a boat ride over to that magical island Kingdom of Nantucket?  You’re sure to have a great time!  We will, as always, leave that LIGHT on for ya!

Unless you are living under a rock–or have un-plugged from the thought control of the corporate owned airwaves, saturated for your viewing pleasure with GMO filled, hydro-carbon hyperbole–you must know there is a ‘must see’ piece of crap on “the TV”!  Yup, it’s time for another gosh darn Republican debate!  Halleluiah! It is not a sign of good health to be well adjusted to a rather sick society.  Watching people on an electronic box, mostly spewing lies for mass mind control, literally giving “them’ your power, is kind of crazy don’t you think, especially considering the fact that the whole darn thing is an illusion!  WAKE UP! How is this somehow a “normal” part of one’s daily existence on this fantastic planet?  A beautiful world, one you could be exploring, enjoying and protecting instead of watching others do it for you…

ONE cannot help but take notice of this first U.S. GOP “debate” on the unholy station of FOX “news” (only three days from today, I think, I have not checked my local listings but I am sure they might pop up again on any of your many electronic collars you carry around, all used in good health for the NSA’s reading pleasure, hi guys!), a debate that will bring tears, laughs and perhaps a few hurt feelings, for a few of the fellas won’t get a rose, as they will be turned away at the door, Donald Trump’s personal security detail would be happy to keep out the riff-Raff. Like that no good, dirty rotten…

Indeed, we may be looking at some bad blood. FOX has decided that those GOP candidates vying for the highest office in this here US of A–all 1700, 17 of them rather–must be weaned down to 10.  “Because we don’t want it to look like a football rally OK?”, they have also claimed said puppetry must first pass a certain threshold in order to make their ‘dreams come true’. Ten only allowed on stage sir, ten only I say unto you! Hear me well kind sir, hear me well!  ‘This bar shall be defined by way national polls, taken eagerly by pollsters that have been around since the birth, life and death of Jesus Christ  himself.

So far it looks like the front runner Donald Trump will make it, along with Jeb Bush, Scott Walker and even that lovable old dirty snowman Chris Christie, who, it turns out, won’t have to worry about closing a bridge and taking tax payer money to build a tunnel, backing out, using it for ‘other’ reasons, let alone the monies for Super Storm Sandy, or Hoboken, or all the shady Port Authority of New York and New Jersey thing and all…, yes, all these folks will be swinging for the fences.  Sadly, Texas Governor Rick Perry might not make that cut, but not to worry, there is always room for a color guy on Rupert, ‘arrrghhh matey!’, Murdoch’s, ‘journalistic’ “News Corporation” Empire.  A sad, lonely place where Truth, Love, Hope, Joy and Union is hidden from the Light of Day.

We, as a country, will be bombarded over the next 17 months with literally several billion dollars worth of Madison Avenue Wizard like advertisements simply aimed at hiding truth about what is really going on. You know, this ‘monetary market’ system and all of the unsustainable policy therein.  None so much as the U.S. environmental policy--this monumental folly (by way of man); consequence being a cataclysmic GLOBAL WARMING upon US ALL NOW, (good luck MSNBC’s Alex Wagner!). I would wager a bet with any man on this planet that none of these politicians patronizing on all the world’s stage, vying to become the most powerful man on planet EARTH, yes, I would wager, if I were a betting man, that none will take this ‘hoax’ seriously, indeed, they predictably will mock it.  Thus, eliminating them ALL from any serious consideration to become the 45th President of the United States of America.

How can one logically elect a leader who cannot SEA the coming Tsunami?
