Little Red Boat

Filed under: Blog — Michael @ 7:49 am

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the unsettled, cloudy, cool island of Nantucket! Great to be with you on this Wednesday morning here at the Hyannis/Hyannis Port Waterfront(s), the 29th day of April, 2015.  Another chilly one out there on the waters, but it will eventually become summer and if you make it here, perhaps we can go out on my yacht and cruise Nantucket Sound.  For there is no better ’sound’ than that!

Ah, the Cape in the summer.  In this fast paced, sixth gear world we all live in, wouldn’t it be nice if one could let it all go–unplug from your electronic overlords–even if it were only for a week, book a flight to Boston, hop a train to the Cape and just settle in and watch it all unfold; witnessing the wild things all around you…

The list of things to do on Cape Cod and the adjacent islands is unparalleled anywhere on planet earth. This is the birthplace of OUR democracy, you know, the one with that little letter ‘d’.

Over the course of the summer, Sea Cape Cod will reveal the rich history of all the towns that make up this unique sand bar created 11,500 years ago by the “Last Great Ice Age”, for it was on “Coast Guard Beach” in Chatham where the pilgrims from England first landed; then sailing up the coast to what is now known as “Provincetown” and eventually landing in Plymouth, just a few miles north of this hub.  Knowing where one comes from helps in the discovery of who you really are…

Have a great day!

1968?

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the very chilly, cloudy, windy island of Nantucket! Great to be with you and yours on this 28th day of April, 2015, a Tuesday to be sure, as the sand bar experiences an upper level low pressure system passing by, bringing unseasonably cool weather to the region, not, as they say, a good beach day, although, for this reporter, it may as well be bright blue sky out there!

WAKE UP!

Have a nice Tuesday everybody!

Yellow Tulip 2.0

Filed under: Blog — Michael @ 8:40 am

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the once again sunny, cool island of Nantucket! Great to be with you on this 27th day of April, 2015, another gorgeous day on the Hyannis/Hyannis Port Waterfront(s), looking ahead to a rather chilly week, with temperatures struggling to get into the low fifties…

Having completed the ‘journey’ of unplugging the old TV machine as the great Rachel Maddow puts it–good luck MSNBC, not so much you FOX ‘news’–forgoing “Dish” for Roku, I must say I think I am way past the withdrawal stage.  Although I still drive by the Comcast every now and again… Yes, after ‘taking my mind back’, I have stumbled across some “must see TV” as it were.  There have been at least ten documentaries that have caught my attention and they should yours as well, for the TRUTH will be exposed in the end and the mistakes of the past three and a half decades (Federal Reserve monetary policies for starters!), by our so called ‘leaders’ will come full circle, but probably not until there is another grand crisis in the “too big to fail” U.S. banking industry, a group of individuals who play dice with all of our futures.

One of those seen was a ‘piece’ by the great Katie Couric, who put together a film called “Fed Up”, the story of our food industry and how it is effectively poisoning (obesity) our children with sugar.  If you are interested in this epic documentary please Google “fedupmovie.com” for more information.  I highly recommend it.

If it is high finance you are interested in, please watch “Money for Nothing” and it will enlighten you to the dark street of Wall, whose bankers are more like gun slingers out of Wild West, caring nothing of America. Rather, interested only in the modus operandi “profit over people”; salivating for short term gain.

And finally, for now, I challenge you to sit through “Fallen Angels”, the story of Skid Row in greater downtown Los Angeles, where homeless people are literally thrown to the street in such a way that if you don’t cry then you sir, are not human.  There are real Angels in this one, recovered souls giving back when they seemingly had nothing to give… If we don’t get a handle on our poor soon in this nation, we are in big trouble.  For a country cannot sustain itself if the imbalance–the great Grand Canyon gap between those on 740 Park Avenue in New York City and those on said Southern Californian row–continues to grow, indeed, creating a nation of two peoples, the haves and the have nots…

Have a great week!

Daffodil Day; Nantucket

Filed under: Blog — Michael @ 8:32 am

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the sunny, beautiful, brisk island of Nantucket! “Daffodil Day” week end here on that famous, wonderful island.  Some might say the best in the Atlantic, Nantucket, a little rock out, oh, 27 nautical miles south/southeast of Hyannis where I write these simple words to you today.  At 10:30 a.m., only two hours away, the children’s parade will march down Main Street in the historically rich downtown of the above mentioned hamlet, laden with cobblestones, gas lamps from the days of ‘yore and the famous white and grey buildings that take one back to the days when “…Paul Revere was ridin’ that horse all through town, firing off his gun, you know, warning the British that the Americans were comin’?” (credit the comic stylings of Sarah Palin, former Alaska Governor and Vice Presidential candidate 2008), yes, indeed, Nantucket!

A town that I still remember well, on this 25th day of April, 2015.  A gorgeous one out there on the waters surrounding this tiny sand bar created 11,500 years ago by “the Last Great Ice Age”.  My suggestion is to enjoy every moment of it, all of nature; wild and free, looking with real eyes into the deep, rich yellow of the Daffodil, a flower that represents the very first real sign of Spring.  With Summer to follow, then Fall, Winter, and then well, you know, it’s Daffodil Day once again, God Willing…..

Wish you were here…”

Summer calling!

Filed under: Blog — Michael @ 10:12 am

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the sunny, brisk, breezy island of Nantucket! Great to be with you and yours on this Friday morning, the 24th day of April, 2015, coming to you LIVE here at the Hyannis Harbor“Ahoy!”–as we all watch the “Eagle” come in for a landing from the mighty island of Nantucket, a giant ferry filled with cars, truck, tourists, locals and wanderers alike, all bound for “the mainland”, this little sand bar created 11,500 years ago be the “Last Great Ice Age…” So come on down and visit, for no where on planet earth can you witness the ghosts of democracy, when it was a cause worth fighting for, yes indeed, these hallowed shores will remind one of why we fought that Revolutionary War to begin with, fighting tyranny in all it’s forms.  Doesn’t it say something about that in the Constitution?

If you are interested in this ’sort’ of thing, you know, democracy with that little letter ‘d’, you may just want to book a tour of this tiny hamlet.  For who knows, this may just become just another ride at “Disneyland”; democracy fading into the sunset, becoming the ‘fantasy land’ it seems to have already become.

Have a good week end!

The Osprey has landed…

Filed under: Blog — Michael @ 11:37 am

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the unsettled, partly cloudy, brisk island of Nantucket! Great to be with you on this 23rd day of April, a cool one out on the Hyannis/Hyannis Port Waterfront(s), with temperatures in the 40’s and a stiff wind coming in from the North…

Just a ‘message in a bottle’ as it were, as one looks at the beloved Osprey just in from as far south as Brazil, making nests that have that 360 degree view, you know, the one where ‘you can’t get fooled again’…

So come on down and visit the Cape and Islands this Spring, Summer or Fall!  And if you are really brave, you will visit the great island of Nantucket at Christmas time, for the famous “Nantucket Christmas Stroll”; truly a journey back in “time”…

Have a nice day!

Earth; remember me?

Filed under: Blog — Michael @ 10:33 am

Greetings and salutations and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the Golden sun laden island of Nantucket! Great to be with you and yours on this beautiful day here on a little sand bar created 11,500 years ago by the Last Great Ice Age…

Come on down an visit, we’ll throw a shrimp on the barbie for ya!

Of course this is the 22nd day of April 2015 and I am happy to be with you on a simple Wednesday, “EARTH DAY”, round, well. the world…

I don’t know what else to add to what I have already said about the fate of this planet.  97% of credible scientists have told us that if we keep putting all that ‘dang carbon into the atmosphere, well, we are in big trouble.

So, get out there and SEA the beauty of nature before it vanishes into thin air…

Spring hopes eternal…

Filed under: Blog — Michael @ 1:49 pm

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the misty, foggy, mild island of Nantucket! Great to be with you and yours on this 7th day of April, 2015, a grey shrouded afternoon on this little sand bar created by the “Last Great Ice Age” over 11,500 years ago…

As the collective consistence continues to spin on it’s axis, apparently, a whole lot has been going on on planet earth.

U.S. President Obama’s work with Iran in regard to the insanity of nuclear weapons has been exemplar–will be noted as such.

In the classic film “The Graduate”–starring Anne Bancroft Katherine Ross, Dustin Hoffman, circa 1965–there was one scene that must be remembered…

Talking to the old “Mr. Roper”, from the famous 1970’s sitcom “Three’s company”, young 21 year old ‘Benjamin Bradford’ (a.k.a. “Mr. Gladstone”), walks blindly into a question from his happy parents’ dear friend.  The question being, “…what are you going to do with your future?”. As “Benjamin” sat there looking at the man with sweat on his face, just received back to sunny L.A., graduation from Harvard, was given these simple words, again about his future…

“Plastics”

“…enough said.”

As we move forward into this 21at Century, perhaps we should think about those words.

Have a great week ahead folks!

Good Friday

Filed under: Blog — Michael @ 8:54 pm

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the rainy, dark, somber island of Nantucket! A good evening the you and yours on this Good Friday, the third day of April, 2015; a true day of worship for a man who laid his life down to save a race that must learn to walk that talk.

All pray for victims in Kenya on this day, for it seems that the true words of peace, harmony and Love, will and must, must someday ring true for us all. Knowing somehow, that we are not alone and we all want that same very thing.

So, from a grey, mystical day on Cape Cod, I leave you with a quote, one from which you can find at “The Course of MIRACLES” on page 562 from the text, “…”what then remains to be undone for you to realize.  Their Presence?  Only this; you have a differential view of when attack is justified, and when you think it as unfair, you think that a response of anger now is just.  And thus you see what is the same as different.  Confusion is not limited.  If it occurs at all it will be total.  And its presence, in whatever form, will hide Their Presence.  They are known with clarity or not at all.”

“…Blessed are the peace makers, for they will be called the Sons of God.”

May peace reign on planet earth!

PRESERVE THAT Wilderness!  Peace~M
