Eagle’s Nest

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the windy, now sunny island of Nantucket! Great to be with you and yours on this 31st day of January, 2013, a blustery one out there on the ocean, if you are a seafaring kind of gal or guy, as we were barraged with a ton of rain overnight, bringing this yo-yo weather pattern full circle as it were, for only a few days ago, this little sand bar created 11,500 years ago by the Last Great Ice Age was in the single digits with lots of snow and ice for all…  Last night on “The Daily Show, with John Stewart”, Happy New Year by the way, as well as Mr. S. Colbert of “The Colbert Report”, Al Gore made an appearance that was not only striking, but actually had a point.  His former station, Current TV, a station this reporter owes a whole bunch, not to mention the great Keith Olbermann who anchored that great news show, “Countdown, with Keith Olbermann” on same said station, was sold to some folks in Qatar, a 24 hours news station called Al Jazeera.  The point that the former Vice President of the United States of America was making was this–they did not have the deep pockets to expose GLOBAL WARMING for what it is–REALITY! It is the most pressing issue of OUR ‘time’ on this only home WE all have for the moment and it is critical that WE tackle it as a global community, hopefully saving at least a part of God’s GREEN earth for future generations.  I salute his new book, “The Future”, and implore you to go and buy yourself a copy today.  He is a great steward of not only this country, but many who will be seeing the shifts of rising tides, stronger storms, more severe droughts, wild fires and more, for there is no doubt that mankind’s continued spewing of Carbon Dioxide and other pollutants into said atmosphere is the culprit for OUR predicament as a species.  Spewing it as, and I quote the former President, ooops, I meant Vice President, “…if it were an open sewer” and of course this is the reason for storms such as “Sandy” that ravaged the east coast only a few months ago, not to mention countless days of drought this past summer and severe tornadoes across much of the heartland.  Let US take our democracy back from special interest groups whose only goal, i.e. companies such as Exxon-Mobile, is to make more money, not create a better place for our children and grandchildren to live in.  Have a wonderful day folks and GOOD LUCK to Chuck Hagel, who is being ‘deposed’ by the Senate even as we speak, a nominee to become our next Secretary of Defense, a man who came from the grunts of the Vietnam War, became Senator and has the look of honesty on his face–a rare trait in the republican party these days.  PRESERVE THE WILDERNESS! Peace~M

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the rather balmy, clearing island of Nantucket! Great to be with you on this Wednesday morning, the thirtieth day of January, 2013, a mild one at that, as the yo-yo that has become our weather pattern here and around the world just keeps getting stranger and stranger by the day.  I just got off the phone with the “Nantucket Chronicle”, a sight I would highly recommend if you plan on visiting that fine island, and spoke with a nice lady named Georgia who also knows of the great new station on said island, 97.7 ACK FM, “the future of Rock and Roll”, and my favorite DJ Sandy Walshyou guys are the best! Sorry for that shameless plug, but, in all earnestness, they deserve it.  Well, John Kerry, now former Senator from this fair state of Massachusetts, was confirmed overwhelmingly by the Senate yesterday in a 94-3 vote, casting some LIGHT on what will hopefully be the same result for Chuck Hagel, who has been nominated for the position of Secretary of Defense.  Chuck served in Vietnam and is a well qualified candidate as he was also a Senator who did well by his constituents.  Good Luck sir!  Of course, the conversation has turned back to immigration and perhaps the right wing fringe is once again out on a limb on this one, for it seems there may actually be some bi-partisan olive branches being thrown about, with Senator John McCain standing with President Obama on many of the issues facing this most contentious problem in this great nation.  With over 11 million undocumented ‘aliens’ here on U.S. soil, people who live, work, raise their families and contribute to our society, it is high time we act on this NOW.  For the FACTS are that this country IS a nation of immigrants and who are WE to stand in the way of history?  From Ireland, Italy, and indeed Africa, we are ALL one under the umbrella that is that statue of Liberty on Ellis Island in New York, and WE will take those huddled masses, especially the one’s that are already here and embrace them, for that is the American WAY, a way forged by some brave souls who freed this country from tyranny 237 years ago.  Have a wonderful day folks and thanks for tuning in, it is an honor and a privilege. PRESERVE THE WILDERNESS! Peace~M

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the foggy, misty island of Nantucket! Great to be with you all on this 29th day of January, 2013, a Tuesday to be sure, and the beauty that IS this little sand bar created 11,500 years ago by the Last Great Ice Age has come upon US once again, with the soft gentle rain bringing a thaw to a cold and wondrous winter. Unbeknownst to US, however, it matters little, as it IS only living in the present that WE all HAVE. With the great lady Hillary Clinton, who did a wonderful job as Secretary of State, for this here U.S., departs, perhaps a run for 2016?, WE will offer our best wishes to her and her husband, our 42nd President, Bill Clinton, for John is a great man, a neighbor from old, Beacon Hill in Boston, John Kerry, Senator from this great state, who will bring some wisdom to that already great office, and God Willing, stop any future conflicts WE not be involved in as a nation… God Speed sir Knight! and may the Grace of God be with you!  Have a wonderful day folks and remember what the late, great Ted Knight, an artist from many films, none so much as “Caddyshack” (circa 1980) once stated, and I quote…“you know I’ve put boys younger than you to the gas chamber, didn’t want to do it, just felt like I owed it to them…”. Perhaps a little to MUCH food for thought, but if you think about it, perhaps we could ALL be a little kinder to our brethren, our “lesser thans” and our little ones’, you know, the animals, the plants and other living creatures who can’t FIGHT for themselves.  PRESERVE THE WILDERNESS! Early morning light…

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the soon to be snowy island of Nantucket! Great to be with you on this Monday morning, the 28th day of January, 2013, a much warmer day than the past few weeks have been, with temperatures expected to reach the freezing mark in quite some ‘time’…  Hope all is well with you and yours as WE delve back into the issues surrounding this great nation and indeed the world.  With 80 percent of Americans now understanding the FACT that global warming is quite real, ‘just ask the folks in the Arctic, they’ll tell ya’, it may be time to revisit this most important global issue, as the United States takes a back seat to the problem with countries such as Sweden, Finland, France and even the U.K. making strides to curb our appeal for fossil fuels that are emitting the carbon dioxide making this world WE ALL inhabit a much more dangerous place to live in.  Take for example the XL Keystone pipeline, slated to bring that nasty tar sand from Canada down through our heartland and lock US into a dirty energy future for generations to come, all while enriching the already richer than God oil and gas companies who are also raping and pillaging our earth via the fricking fracking hydraulic exercise of breaking apart shale deep within the earth’s crust while poisoning our water, our air and our people, soon to be coming to 18 million people in the New York City, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and other middle Atlantic states–the upside only being it is “natural gas”, while the downside being the destruction of the largest aquifer in the world, namely that aquifer in upstate New York that feeds all of said citizens with clean, safe drinking water.  President Obama will be naming a new EPA director soon, hopefully providing some real teeth.  It will be an uphill battle with a congress that is still up to it’s old tricks of obstruction, at the expense of our children’s and grand children’s futures.  It is time to take a stand against these polluters, i.e. companies such as Halliburton, Koch Industries or Exxon-Mobile, who only gain from say that fracking process that is unregulated and top secret, pouring 596 deadly chemicals into the earth and emitting poisonous gases that will spoil our water systems forever in many locations here in the U.S…  You cannot replace a stream, a river, a gulf or an ocean, no matter what “their” business model tells you.  I pray this administration takes a hard look at that and continues to develop what many, many other countries are already embracing–clean energy–renewable and safe for OUR environment, an environment we all have to live in at this moment in ‘time’.  It is a wonder we as a species are so interested in other planets, such as Mars, and get all excited when there may be a prospect that water exists, therefore the possibility of life on said planet.  Yet we, living in this early part of the 21st century on planet earth, find no problem in destroying our own water sources because we are afraid of pissing off a couple of bully energy companies who have a stranglehold on the far right wing nut jobs in the House of Representatives, as well as some member of the U.S. Senate, a group that acts more as indentured servants than serving the public as it was set up in the Constitution.  Food for thought, and with the ever growing temperatures, rising seas, severe droughts, wild fires and stronger and stronger storms, may God see  fit to continue allowing US to grow that food; for without food and water, life does not exist. Have a wonderful week ahead folks and please, for the Love of common sense and your own basic mental, physical and spiritual health, steer clear of the wooden nickles thrown about by the likes of FOX NEWS.  Side effects still, and apparently always will, include blurred vision, nausea, dementia and delusion…  PRESERVE THE WILDERNESS! Peace~M

And so it begins…

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the cold, snowy island of Nantucket! Great to be back with you on this frigid January morning, the twenty sixth day of this New Year of 2013 and after a sojourn of sorts, as this humble reporter moved from Cotuit, “where the ocean meets the wood”, to the hub of Cape Cod proper, Hyannis, adjacent to Hyannis Port, where, of course, the Kennedy family hails from–a place steeped in history, grace, beauty and grandeur, I bid you a fair adieu.  A hamlet to visit, the sooner, the better…  My new home overlooks the Steamship Authority and Hyannis Harbor, where the giant ships such as the “Eagle”, the“Sankaty”, the “Iyanough” and the “Nantucket” all steam forth to said destination, i.e. the island of Nantucket, with visitors from all over the world taking in the magic that is that great island 30 nautical miles from this locale.  Just outside, on my deck, I can ‘SEA’ the LIGHTHOUSE of Brandt Point, a replica built on this famous harbor of Hyannis, mirroring that same LIGHT on that great island …  It is a blessing to be here and I thank you for continuing to tune in to this “no commercial interruptions” website, devoted to bringing the TRUTH to the nation and the world as to what is really going on, what needs to still be accomplished and what will most likely be a great year for all…Happy New Year! Congratulations to OUR great 44th President, Barack Obama, who gave a beautiful inauguration speech only a few days ago, ushering in his second term and bringing to the forefront what will most likely be the legacy of one of the greatest men to go down in history as a President of the United States of America– may she be blessed forever.  I salute you sir, your beautiful family and your administration and good luck, Gods’ speed and may the LIGHT of the aforementioned Lighthouses always be with you and yours–now and for many years to come.  May you have a wonderful weekend folks and I promise I will be back with you tomorrow, same ‘bat time, same bat channel’! From the shores of the Cape and Islands of Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard …be safe, be secure and be sure, for it is a brand New Year and the shift of Love and Compassion has already begun in earnest.  PRESERVE THE WILDERNESS! Peace~M
